I'm just not at all in love with trading the 3rd pick for guys like Wagner and WCJ. Scoot could legitimately be a superstar. He could also be a bust, but the chance that he could be a superstar is worth keeping the pick. Amen could be a superstar. He could also be a bust, but the chance that he could be a superstar is worth keeping the pick. Miller is probably the least likely to be a superstar, but he could be a very good player. Portland's history of being unable to sign star players, or trade for star players, makes me not want to give up a chance at drafting another star player. I have high hopes for Sharpe, but I would like to double our chances. Our best shot at winning a championship is if we draft a couple of stars on the same timeline. That's really the whole point in possibly trading the pick for Brown or Bridges or Siakam. Those guys are stars. So the choice is either to draft a guy who could be a star, or trade for a guy who is currently a star. I don't see the point in trading for guys who are not stars.
