We got the #3 pick. Discuss the possibilities.

?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

I don't agree with the Siakam/Grant pairing being awkward. Why do you way that?

I love the idea of Bridges but Grant is such an asbismal rebounder - that I can't have him be the long-term solution at PF.

The best of all options would be a Bridges/Siakam front court.

All discussions are aided by perspective.

    1) How many fans wanted to trade last years 1st round pick?
    2) How many of those fans have changed their minds and are now excited about the future of that pick?
    3) Is winning the most possible games each year...or winning a title....the most important?
    4) Are all decisions regarding Dame made outside of his choice...or has he earned the right to have a say in things?
    5) Do you see the Blazers through a lens of hope....or through a lens of how they have wronged you as a fan?

All of these....and more.... can change a disagreement, into merely a difference in perspective.

Scoot makes no sense with Dame... I mean you seriously want to try another small guard next to Dame?!? Simons doesn't get you anywhere close to acquiring Siakam... not in matched salary or in value.

I was thinking they complement each other pretty well. Siakam is a solid 230, can create his own shot, pass, and is a decent rebounder. Grant is an excellent 3 pt shooter who can spread the floor for Dame, SS and Siakam.

To be fair, they all have already won championships, and also might be overvalued by their teams (excepting LeBron, who is kind of impossible to overvalue)

I just don't think it's fans this time. All of the shit Dame has been saying out there tells you that Joe has agreed to move this pick for all star help in order to build a win now team around Dame. I think if he breaks his word on that, then Dame will ask out. I actually don't see Joe as a guy that would break his word on that unless he decides to tell Dame that the better direction for the team is a complete youth rebuild and they find a destination for Dame that will help that rebuild a lot.

Could the Blazers get a Bridges / Siakam front court?

This Siakam shit is more annoying than Detroit fans last year demanding the #6 pick for Jerami Grant.

But does he fit next to Sharpe when Dame sits, is injured, or retires? I say trade the pick, but Scoot coming off the bench is not horrible. He will only be 23 when Dame retires.

Fair enough. I just disagree that your proposed lineup with KAT and OG is good. I'd consider it extremely unlikely to be a contending lineup. It would both fail in winning with Dame, and throw away our future. So I wouldn't do that.

Now I do see some upside in a KAT Dame pairing and would be curious how it would actually work. But I wouldn't risk the next 7 years of the franchise just to see it.

From Portlands end I would not. He doesn't solve the defensive issues and this team is still not close to contending. If these are the type of offers for #3; keep the damn pick.

I just want to reiterate that WE GOT THE #3 PICK!!! We didn't get pushed back to 6, 7 or 8 like the odds would have suggested. We didn't get 4 where the big drop off in pre-draft value is supposed to be. We got the last pick in the very exclusive second tier of this draft. It's exciting and I can't wait to see what Joe gets done with it.

I think Dame and Scoot could work if Ant is traded. Doesn't make sense to have all three though.

Got a text from a friend in Charlotte, he thinks Portland could trade up to #2 for the guy they want?

Do they have a good defensive center they could include? That would be the only way.

Neither Siakam or Grant can guard the ball. The Blazers would still get killed at the point of attack. None of this group with Nurk can clean up the rim good enough like Gobert to make up for it.

Bridges or Brown could make sense with Grant. Siakam just doesnt - unless one of them turns into a PJ Tucker 5. Which as you say rebounding is already a concern with them at forward.

Yeah Grant has some abilities on defense, but his poor man defense and shitty rebounding makes it difficult to construct a great defensive forward duo. Now if you had defensive guards maybe that would be fine; but we have DameAnt with a still learning defense Sharpe.

I honestly cannot believe that anyone that has been watching this team over the last 7 or 8 years thinks Dame with another small guard could work. It's mind boggling especially since we have Shae. I also can't believe people actually think we're keeping Dame and this pick. Dame has said that he's not interested and has said he is in constant contact with Joe. I am not saying it will be an idea that I have but this pick is going to get traded and this team is going to try and build a winner around Dame or they will decide that they can't and will move Dame. Then you might get to see if Scoot and Shae work.
