What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

I think there’s more to the Lillard to Miami in fact I think it will happen. Would we take on Ben Simmons in a three way where we get boat load of draft picks from both Brooklyn and Miami? Hero and pieces to Brooklyn, Dame to Miami.

maybe we get really lucky and Simmons is finally able to return to form with no pressure in rebuild situation. Brooklyn gets out from big contract and get pieces to improve team with Hero as center piece

Ant (if you get Scoot maybe you trade Ant)
    Sharpe
    Simmons
    Miller or Scoot
Try and get young center in trade for Nurk and use some of our draft Capitol.
I like Ayton but understand concerns, still gets you 18/10 and ok defense
I wouldn’t resign Grant in this situation maybe do a sign and trade

this would be fun young team with couple of guys who have potential to pop.

I think everyone that communicates with Blazers FO have said Blazers would not even be interested in Ingram.

    My narrative?

I was posting links to people saying Miller is the better prospect. I also posted links saying Amen has the highest ceiling.

My personal narrative has been the same the entire time: I think prospects 2-6 are about equal, they all have flaws, and Scoot's size, by default, puts him at the bottom of that list. I've also said maybe 100x that Whitmore is probably my favorite prospect but his BBIQ and decision making is SO bad that you can't take him at 3. I also stated I liked Amen but his shot is so broken that it's really hard to overlook that and once again, probably can't take him at 3. I also stated that if we decided to trade Dame, I'd take Amen over anyone else (not named Wemby).

I've also stated multiple times that I like Scoot and he might be a better player in a vacuum than the guys I have ahead of them. Unfortunately for him, due to his size, I think they're more likely to win a championship because ... once again ... a player that fits Scoot's mold has never won a championship AND 28/30 (or something like that) of the last finals MVPs have NOT been PGs, so it's obvious to me what wins championships... NOT point guards.

I've posted it about a million times. That's my narrative. I've never said Scoot is an inferior prospect, nor did I say Brandon Miller is superior. I said ONE is CLEARLY harder to find than the other, if only because there is significantly less amount of people born who are 6'9.... then you're narrowing down that number to 6'9 people that can play basketball ... which once again, is a lot harder to find than a 6'x score-first, little-to-no defense, guard.

And I do believe they should take him over Scoot. That's why it's hilarious to me that they want to trade the #2 pick for Brandon Ingram, which as I said above, is essentially an older version of Brandon Miller. And at the time, the consensus was that Brandon Miller would go #2. So it's not my narrative, and I'm not pushing any agenda, other than I really don't want Scoot, but it's not because I think he'll be bad.

Windhorst hinted a major trade is happening on Friday.

Why Friday? Does it have to come after the draft to avoid the Stepien rule?

Aren't we under it right now preventing us from moving both our picks before Friday?

    Hmm

In one of my recent posts I said something to the effect Brown was worth the price even if a slight overpay and Bridges was too but maybe harder to swallow and after thinking about it more I have changed my mind on Bridges part of the deal. If the Blazers do get Bridges they better get a future 1st or 2 out of it and at least one more solid bench player to boot or it would be a bad deal. The more I think about Bridges and I like him he reminds me of CJ and that is not a knock on him just CJ in my mind is a Robin lite type player with moments of being better and this team needs a Robin player with flashes of being the MAN type player if were to give up Ant and the 3rd pick.

If The Blazers and Nets do make a deal then the deal needs to be something like this for it to be solid and something while fans might be upset with could at least live with it and that would be this and going to try and be mostly realistic in this idea so here it goes :

Blazers Get : Bridges , Patty Mills or Royce O'Neal , Day'ron Sharpe ---- 21st and 22nd and 51st picks in this years draft and 2 Future 2nd rounders
Nets get : Simons , Little -- 3rd pick and 43rd picks in this years draft

Now if the Nets really believe Scoot ( Miller maybe ) is a generational talent then this is not an overpay for them so your asking them gamble that he really is such a talent and you get Simons to boot who is a very good player who can take the load of Scoot while he learns / adjusts to the NBA game. They also get Little to who if healthy and maybe a change of scenery will help might develop into a quality spot starter and good bench player and as much as I like Little I believe it's time for a new home for him. Maybe you take off the future 2nd's or Portland throws a couple Future 2nd's in the deal to make it a little easier to swallow for the Nets but these are the small details now to the Blazers.

Now the Blazers get Bridges who is a pretty good player and someone Dame really wants to play with and pretty good defender so he checks the make Dame happy boxes plus the Blazers get some bench depth. Let's start off first with the homecoming of Patty Mills and this is who I would pick so there is someone who can run the team and be a shooter when Dame needs a rest. Then you have Sharpe and he is raw but has shown he might have something in him and he could be the 3rd center while we let Eubanks walk. The Blazers then get two early 20's picks and now can give the Bulls that 23rd pick so it free's up more trade options. The reason you free up more trade options is now they have those Net's picks and maybe or not package them with Nurk to get more pieces for this team or hell keep the picks and get some youth IF the Dame re-load does not work.

Now I know there is almost no way in HELL the Nets would accept this type of deal but after more thought something like this would be needed to make a Nets deal seem more fair and like I said make it a little easier for some fans to swallow giving up that 3rd pick. Now I know this is not a perfect trade I do think it's more realistic then trying to get Claxton in on the deal and a compromise that could work but again this is just a fantasy scenario so have fun with it -- LOL

In the first 30 seconds of the video you posted above.

Reddit is aggregating rumors from Windy snd Simmons and equating it to a Zion deal coming Friday.

You say this like PGs don’t matter to win a championship. Bucks didn’t get it done til Holliday came on board. Curry was the best player on 4 of the last 9 champions. Nuggets won title immediately after getting Murray back. PG may in fact be the MOST important position. Meanwhile, without a star PG, the Celtics have lost year after year after year. Also- 3 of the last 20 Finals MVPs are PGs. But 3 more easily could’ve been Curry.

I'm not going to debate this. My position is we didn't want to pay him what he's worth, hence why he was moved. We can revisit after he signs his next deal.

His comments about his wife were pretty clear. Him signing for 17 in NY doesn't mean he'd even entertain 22 here. But of course that won't stop you and others from having something else to complain about.

if you didn't want to debate, why did you debate what I said?

Cronin was talking about the trade and explicitly said the Blazers got assets for a player that was likely going to leave. I guess he could have been lying. And I guess Hart could have been exaggerating about how his wife felt. I have no reason to seriously doubt either

and I suppose Cronin could have been hemmed in by Vulcan penny-pinching. So I think there are several debatable factors in what you won't debate. But if you're making assertions in a forum like this one, then saying you won't debate the content of your assertion, that's kind of weird

I'll also add, if it's true that Hart, and his wife, were intending to get back to the east coast, then whatever he signs for with the Knicks does NOT mean that's what he would have signed for in Portland

by the way, I really didn't want Hart traded either. I was hoping the Blazers could keep him because Portland needs a junkyard dog in the rotation

And after we find out what we get for #23.

I would have liked Hart and Sharpe splitting minutes at SG.
But can Thybulle provide what Hart gave us on D?
Hart is a great rebounder and attacks the basket much better, but I think Thybulle is a better defender, it's just that Hart hustles so much, it looks like he is. It really depends on who else is on the floor with each of them.
