?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

The problem with Lillard which is no fault of his own is that some super stars would want him to bail to their teams. However, Lillard cannot thru no fault of his own entice super stars to Portland. To me this is a no win situation and restocking this team with young talent and draft picks has a much better chance of having a better outcom.

For the record, I've changed my tune a bit on trading Dame. I don't mind it. Maybe it's because I just don't trust Joe.

I've already convinced myself I'll leave this offseason a sad but wiser man (wiser because I won't expect anything from this damned organization anymore)

The Blazers would have to send out a player to so it would have to include someone like Nas and Nas plus #3 is a way overpay for Wagner. I think they would have to send the 6th to Portland at least

But you trust Joe to trade Dame? If I didn't trust Joe, it would be the opposite for me.

Go get some job skills and increase your income then.

I can actually do something about that money thing. Problem is when my favorite NBA team does stupid moves I'm a helpless frustrated spectator.

    Agreed.
Also, its not like we are necessarily tied to Grant long-term. Get him under contract & then look for a fitting trade in the next year or two.

    No they wouldn't.
Portland has a TPE that they could received a player making under $8M. The draft pick is considered 'compensation' to make the trade legal.

There are still so many unknowns.

Who is Charlotte leaning towards picking?

What kind of value does this pick have?

    Who is potentially available?

I'd be very curious who Mike Schmitz thinks is the better prospect between Scoot and Miller. If he thinks that Scoot is a superstar in the making, and the Hornets take Miller, I'm not sure if we can pass on Scoot. Or are fans really gearing up to repeat passing on Jordan or Chis Paul.

Look how long OKC is taking in their rebuild. And while all the young talent, and future picks are nice, they still aren't there. It's been what, 7 years of this rebuild. It could take 4 to 5 more till they get a player who is SGA level, if they do. Chet is interest, and has a wonderful skillset, but can he stay healthy. What if SGA bolts. Then you're back to square 1. There are no super teams right now. If the Blazers go "All IN' and acquire some quality pieces to put around Dame over the next 2 seasons , and it doesn't work, you still have Sharpe, being as young as he is, to build around with youth later. Rebuilding takes much longer unless you're lucky enough to get a LeBron, Wemby type talent. We all hope Sharpe is the truth. If he is, it will really show this year, in a pronounced uptick in his play. But to give up and start rebuild now, it can take years upon years to find a player who has Dame's abilities, if ever. And i say this all the time. Most of us love Portland. We wouldn't be here if we didn't, unless there's financial issues that don't allow a move. But not all athletes buy in to this special place ( lack of entertainment choices, weather, etc.). And they might choose to force the Blazers hand and want out, instead of maxing out money wise here.

That’s why OKC is on my list of teams to trade Dame.

Oh yeah forgot about the TPE, but no way is Wagner worth the #3 pick.

I totally buy the Scoot hype. He actually killed Wemby the time they played against each other. I wouldn't want to pass on him if he was available.

Where do you get this 7 years? They went to game 7 in 2020 and have the same 3 playoff wins in that span as the Blazers with "win now" Dame.

Since 2020 when OKC was in the playoffs; they missed the playoffs two years and made the playin once. The Blazers missed the playoffs twice and got beat in game 6 of the first round once.

I'd take OKC assets to eventually contend over the Blazers and many other franchises all day long.

Typical Blazers mediocrity content fans to delusionally view the teams (lack) of accomplishments.

You either keep Scoot or you keep Ant to pair with Sharpe. Either one backs up Dame for the next 4 years.
Scoot has better trade value so I assume they will trade him. Maybe they trade both in order to match salaries.
