So what if Trent Richardson no longer is around to carry the ball and carry the Alabama football team? “AJ McCarron is the kind of quarterback that you can put the game in his hands,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said Thursday morning on the "Mike and Mike in the Morning" show on ESPN Radio. And regarding the changing landscape of college football, Saban said it’s time to cut Division I down to 60 or 70 teams, “and these teams need to be playing each other.” He again advocated for playing nine Southeastern Conference games each season.
