Please, no more questions for Brandon Webb regarding when he will pitch in his first game since injuring his shoulder Opening Day of last season. "I can't tell you for sure, I can only say hopefully," Webb said on Friday. "We'll just have to keep playing it out. Nothing is ever set in stone ever since we started Spring Training, so we're just rolling with the punches and whatever I'm able to do, I do and I take that each day." Webb hopes he will make six or so starts this year, which would mean he would need to come back around Aug. 15. Is that realistic? "I think it still is," he said. "I hope to get that many starts, if it's fewer, it's fewer, we'll just deal with it." Webb's last bullpen session came on the Saturday before the All-Star break, and he had an intense long-toss session Friday that was upwards of 250 yards. Throwing at that distance not only builds arm strength, but it forces him to generate the kind of arm speed that he needs to regain before he gets on the mound. With that in mind, pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre Jr. has changed the focus from throwing bullpens to playing long toss. "He thinks I'm getting more out of that than being on the mound, so we're going to try to do long toss every other day and maybe get off the mound after some of those," Webb said. "As soon as I get done with that and throw 60 feet my arm feels really good." http://arizona.diamondbacks.mlb.com...12299440&vkey=notebook_ari&fext=.jsp&c_id=ari
