<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">AUBURN HILLS -- A cameraman turned on his bright light, and immediately Chris Webber winced and covered his scratched left eye.

"Hey, turn that light off," screamed Pistons assistant Ron Harper from across the gym. "Turn it off!"

Finally, the light was doused, and Webber could continue talking about the irritation and discomfort that comes with the one-centimeter long slash on the cornea.

"This is one of the worst injuries I've ever had, believe it or not," said Webber, who was scratched by a flailing Dwight Howard on Friday. "It's really painful. Most inconvenient because you can't sleep, you can't close your eyes. And then when you wake up, you can't adjust to the light, you can't drive without pain. It's bad."

Bad enough, he said, that he has to wear sunglasses all the time -- "like I am Michael Jackson or something."

Compounding the problem, the initial medicine Webber was given made him nauseous. The medicine (eye drops) was altered and he seems to be making progress. But the drops make his vision blurry.

"Yeah, I can't take the drops before the game," he said.

Still, Webber practiced Wednesday and intends to play Friday against the Heat in Miami.

"The thing about the body, it always seems to feel better when it's time to play," he said. "I've just got to deal with this right now. A couple of days and I hope this will be OK."

Webber said he would wear goggles if absolutely necessary.

"It's a little bit of pain, but it's cool," he said. "It'll be all right."</div>

Wow, this didnt really seem like anything at the time, now he is saying its one of his worst ever injuries. I've had some similar problems in the past, so I know how irritating eye injuries are, especially of this magnitude.

He is even talking about breaking out the goggles!!

I've had an injury like this. I had to wear a patch and gauze over my eye cause it was so bad. I ended having to take drops and wear that for about a month or so. I must say it was a rather unpleasant feeling when it was exposed to light.

I had an injury like this too. I had a piece of something hit me in the eye (I was using a saw without protective glasses 7 months ago(I was stupid)), and I had a lot of trouble sleeping the next few days. It was very light sensitive and It would hurt when I look to the left (I think), I had to turn my head to the left instead of moving my eyes. Otherwise my scratched eye would hurt.

The next day, my eye was mucoused shut, and once the mucous wore away, I kept that eye closed the entire day anyway.

I think after a week or a week n a half, it was 90% good. I still kept the eye closed a lot outside it was still light sensitive.
