Faber was jumping around like a fool and deserved to get knocked out. In related news, the guy that pushed him to five rounds (Jens Pulver) got crushed by Leonard Garcia within 90 seconds. Garcia/Brown should be the next title fight with Faber/Fabiano fighting to be number one contender.
I can't believe that all three of the favorites lost tonight. Not only did they loose, non of the favorites really looked good at all. Like Speeds said, Faber was bouncing around the octagon like a ping pong ball, and completely out of control. A KO was going to happen at some point if he kept acting like that. Filho tryed to lay on his back for a majority of the fight, unfortunately for Chael a fight like that looks boring. Jens just got rocked pretty quickly, he didn't have a good showing. Kind of an amazing night to me.
In the future can we not put results in the thread title at first... no big deal tonight but in the past I've found out the results of fights before I got to watch them and was upset ie Chuck/Rashad. I don't really know if I ever like Faber. He kind of has a punk mentality sometimes. I thnk it's hilarious he went for that badass tough guy flying elbow thing only to run right into a fist and drop like a sack of shit.
If it's after the fights air live, it's hard not to have them in here. If you're watching the fights because you have them recorde etc, then it is best to stay away from any MMA forums. I know I've had to do it many of times on a Sunday. Only exception to the rule would be fights in the UK or Japan when they are broadcast at a different time here in North America.
Thats cool. Sometimes I watch the fights on mmatko.com but it might take a day for the fight to be put on there. But if it's a really big fight I care a lot about, I won't come near the computer.
yeah that's entirely what you gotta do.. it kills me some Sunday as freaking Yahoo posts news on their front page sometimes!!!
I'd like to see a rematch if Faber can get a win or two and Brown holds onto the belt. Urijah threw a very reckless elbow and got caught; I don't think that will happen again.
The elbow was really idiotic but I think by the time he threw it he was already rocked and he just did it as a last resort. I agree that Garcia and Brown should be the next title fight. Faber should get another title shot soon though, hes been so dominant that its hard to believe this wasn't some fluke win by Brown.
when you hold the belt as long as Faber has, he shouldn't have to wait long at all. If it was like his first title defence then yeah you have to win a few IMO. Garcia does deserve the first challenge though.
