WEC 42: Torres vs. Bowles drew a crowd of 2,080 fans, only 60% of whom paid to get in. The total live gate for the show was about $175,000. The salaries alone for the show were above $225,000, not including the $40,000 in disclosed bonuses the WEC paid out. About 700,000 people watched the event for free on Versus--so there is no PPV revenue. Now the WEC is going to be without DirecTV for a while--maybe a few months, maybe forever. Dish Network or something has picked up the channel in the meantime but supposedly millions of fewer households will have the channel available to them. No word on whether they will stream the shows or try for cheap PPV to pick up more viewers.

Maybe Spike can pick them up if UFC moves to a prime time channel (as rumored)

The WEC is always exciting to watch, but yeah, they don't have the star power to stay relevant.
