Arenas VS. Billups
Arenas season stats : PPG 22.2 RPG 4.10 APG 5.2 SPG 1.68 FG% .435
Billups season stats : PPG 16.6 RPG 4.10 APG 6.3 SPG 1.50 FG% .401

Pistons Key's to the Game

*Get Chauncey the ball.If he can outplay Arenas, the Pistons should be able to pull away early.
*Don't let Hughes get open shots. When's hot, he's hard to be stopped.
*Inside dominance : Big Ben and especially Rasheed need to get the ball a lot in the post, so they can dominate Haywood and Jamison with their strenght.
*Defend like last year!
*Let Jamison shoot from the outside. Antawn has always been more of an inside player and when forced to shoot from long range, he isn't effective at all.

Wizard Key's to the Game

*Isolate Arenas on Billups, and Hughes on Hamilton. The way referees are calling hand-checks etc. they could go to the stripe early.
*Force Ben to come out and defend the pick and roll. Pass back to the inside player and you're sure of 2 points.
*Get Jamison the ball early. When he can drive and do some post moves against Rasheed, the Wizards should be able to count on him for the win.
*Learn Haywood to board like a man of his size!

Phuzer's Prediction

On paper, the Pistons should win this one. But the way Detroit's playing this season, and the surprising play of the Wizards, things could turn out different. The team that has it going early should be able to hold on because of the momentum and come away with the win. Though I'm a Pistons fan I expect a loss because of the weak outside defence we're playing all season long.

Pistons - 84
Wizards - 89

It's time the Pistons started playing their brand of basketball, It's time for the Pistons to go on a big streak. We are heading into january, no more slacking off.

BTW good preview, Glad someone has made one while I have been away.

No problem man. This forum is dead. 2 weeks ago, there was a new post every minute, and before I made this preview there wasn't anyone active for about 3 days.

I agree with you that the Pistons should be starting to play a bit on their level. I haven't seen a single game where everyone played good or at least decent. Brown needs to make some changes soon, I guess.

Chauncey Billups hit a 14-foot jumper with 0.7 seconds remaining Wednesday to give the Detroit Pistons a 107-105 victory over the Washington Wizards.

The Pistons overcame a 19-point first-half deficit and trailed by as many as 15 in the third quarter. Billups and Rasheed Wallace led the fourth quarter comeback, with Billups scoring 10 points in the final five minutes.

Billups matched his season-high with 32 points and was 6-for-8 from 3-point range. Wallace scored 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter. Ben Wallace had eight points and 14 rebounds for the Pistons, who have won three straight.

Recap

Great comeback by the Pistons to claim the win, Billups came up huge in the 2nd half. Hitting the game winner and running the offense. Rasheed had a much better night offensively. Both played big factors in that 4th quarter. It's amazing the fact they continue to get off to poor starts in games and then turn It on in the 2nd half. That needs to stop. Next game v Miami at the palace tomorrow, the Heat are riding a 12 game winning streak..a prefect time to end that run. Should be a great game. Moving 4 games over 500 would really get the Pistons season back on track which could mean going on a big run.

great win, but i'm worried about this pattern of coming back from behind.

it's almost like you should only watch the 2nd half of Pistons games.

Maybe the pistons think they can just turn things up once the playoffs start

Not sure I like that idea
