<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Magic General Manager John Weisbrod -- in his first summer on the job -- decided substance, not style, was what he wanted, battlers, not big names and familiar faces in the lineup. Every major personnel decision he has made since last season has been an unpopular one, often flying against traditional NBA thinking, angering some of the Magic's most fanatical fans. But he is reshaping the franchise without compromise, staying with a recurring theme that is seen in every move. Love it or hate it, the plan invites scrutiny, causes controversy.</div> Full Story I don't know about other Magic fans, but I love his plan. He's building a TEAM and thats something we've been needing since the McGrady era. We still have one question to raise though, who will score (on a consistant basis)?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Einitials:</div><div class="quote_post">Dwight Howard.</div> We don't know if Dwight is a consistant offensive threat yet. He's a great rebounder and shot blocker from the looks of summer leauge, but is he ready to be our number one option? Most likely we would go to Steve Francis/Mobley at an early stage, but we should just focus on team basketball. Theres several players who are capable of dropping 15 a game, and all we need is a team effort this season.
John has done incredible things to this franchis and will probably continue to do so as long as he has this job. He's building a team for the Magic so hopefully they can make a complete turnaround from last season. I love what he's doing and he needs to continue doing it despite the critisism from fans. Now for the question who will score on a consistant basis. It could be Dwight like Enitials said. He is proclaimed to be another KG and has been working hard at every aspect of his game.

I think francis will have a break out year it will be sort of a year to prove him self to the nba and to all the people in the rockets team that they should have kept him. Mobely is a 17 points a game scorer. He can hit the three on a consistant bases and will be a scorer most nights may struggle here and there, but for the most part will put up big numbers for the team. Also a guy that I believe will score is jameer nelson he spent all four years in college so he is ready to contribute hopefully he does well I expect him to.
I think that now Francis is on a team that needs more scoring than the team he played out in Houston, so expect him to take more shots. As a result, I don't think it's out of the question to expect at least 20 ppg out of him. Mobley can easily up up 20 a night as well. Turkoglu, Howard and Cato could definitely make up for the rest, as well as some of the quality players coming off the bench (Garrity, Bogans, Hill, Nelson, etc.). This team is really deep in my opinion and the only real thing that is in question is how they will play on the offensive side of the ball. Defense should be a strong point for this team, so I'm not worried. Usually good defense ends up creating easy points on offense in the NBA. Weisbrod has built a good team here and I am very pleased with all of the moves that he has made. I know that I'm in the minority when I say this, but I think that thus far, he has done a stellar job.
Weisbrough is building something really special here. For example, I remember in a Orlando vs Lakers game, where we have had a huge lead over the starting lineup of LA(Kobe, Shaq...etc in). Then Phil put in the bench, which played like a TEAM and passed the ball around and got easy shots without being greedy or worrying about their numbers. Them fellers brought the game to a close tie and Magic eventually lost. I guess what I am trying to type is that a mediocre Team can play as well or even better AS a Team, then most superstars ON a Team. Now I don't really mind the whole Team concept Weishbrough building(in fact I love it) but I am not sure I particularly agree with some deals he has made(the Gooden trade). And right now I wouldn't worry much about the team's offence. We have a lot of shooters/runners and I belive that if Magic can avoid much half court offence(even if we don't we have some of the best 3pt shooters in the league which should make the job of others much easier and have a plan B for every play), we should be fine... Right now I see Weisbrough bringing in guys with personality and desire. If all else fails, Orlando should have a colorfull <u>TEAM</u> like we used to have back in the days(Darrell, Mike, Bo) that should be very fun to watch...

If bogans did a better job guarding kobe we would had got the W.
