Finally some excitement:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Suns have reportedly tendered a two year guaranteed contract to John Lucas. Lucas who had a great summer league in Las Vegas playing for the Huston Rockets entry would fit into the Suns style perfectly, and would be a great back up for Steve Nash.Lucas averaged 23.4 points per game, and 8 assists in Las vegas, and is considering the Suns proposal against one tendered by the Rockets. Also there has been som interest in Clevland's Drew Gooden The Clevland Plain Dealer Reports:"Rumblings of a sign-and-trade have begun - Phoenix, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia are interested in Gooden, according to several league sources."The Suns are thought to be offering their trade exception, and draft picks in the Gooden sign and trade. The former Kansas forward is very close to being a double double player (Which I am sure Nash would be glad to help with) A solid rebounder, and defender with a good inside game who can run the floor.A great shot blocker, and trasition defender he might be a better fit than Thomas on the high octane Suns. The Suns are active in the off season, and will soon have some exciting anouncments.</div>Lucas would be a good guy to take a chance on and I guess if they want to trade KT then Gooden would be a great guy to get. Suns fans are excited about him playing in our style, but I'm not sure about his D...he does get around 1 steal and a block....With Sarver and D'Antoni not knowing what he's doing I won't get my hopes up yet though.

Well, I like Luca but I'd hate to sign another short guard. The good part is he'd be better at running the point than House and maybe a bit better defensively. We won't lose anything on the offensive end either. Anybody know anything about Gooden's defensive skills? I am not sure if I would want him in place of Kurt.

Drew Gooden is an ok defensive rebounder... i think thats the only defense you'll get out of Him Kurt Thomas is a way better defender.
