Gotta love the typical American "playing dumb" attitude to hide their utter embarassment. "Duh, I dunno we done had a cricket team?"
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">Just by looking at the score, I still don't know who won... </div> yea them Australians with their bastardized baseball are tryin' to confuse us 'Mericans with them numbers
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">Just by looking at the score, I still don't know who won... </div> Surely you can recognise that a higher total usually wins a game of sport?
I could actually see cricket catching on in the US (in the future) people won't like this statement but the rules and the lack of excitment is no different to baseball, a sport in which so many people love all around america.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Supersonic:</div><div class="quote_post">Surely you can recognise that a higher total usually wins a game of sport?</div> well, we had more overs...whatever that means, lol
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">well, we had more overs...whatever that means, lol</div> Well, in baseball terms, if Team A has five home runs in seven innings, and Team B has seven home runs in five innings, is Team A doing better just because they had more innings?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Supersonic:</div><div class="quote_post">Well, in baseball terms, if Team A has five home runs in seven innings, and Team B has seven home runs in five innings, is Team A doing better just because they had more innings?</div> Depends on how many ppl on base when those home runs are hit

The 5-day version of the game only really caters to purists, but the 1-day version (consisting of 50 overs per innings), is a good night out particularly if it's good teams on the park. The game takes about 6-hours all up. How is that in comparison to a baseball game? I think an advantage that cricket holds over baseball is that the bowlers (equivalent of pitchers) aren't simply lambs to the slaughter, and I'd argue there's also more spectacular fielding.
