As we all know, Mavericks lost in the 6th game of the finals tonight. Totally stunning outcome. This series has probably given me an ulcer. Obviously, the NBA wanted to keep Cuban from having a championship. It all boiled down to the Heat making timely plays and the Mavericks choking when they had to come up the biggest. Its time to look forward - who should stay? who should go? where should we look in the draft?
Well WhiteMan, first off this team will be back. The team is so young, unlike the Heat, this was the season that they had to win. They won't be close anymore at all. Don't worry, those three in your sig will carry this team for a while.
Im hopin that is the case. Terry played huge, resigning him and howard will be the big priorities. Experience for the younger guys is key, and dirk is only 28, so the mavs should have a few more years in the hunt.
You guys had a great season and will definetely be the class of the West next year. Good luck next year and you guys had aa great season and Dirk has emerged into one o fthe biggest stars in the game.
- Re-sign Jason Terry - Trade Dirk for Garnett - Draft an athletic PF Sorry, Dirk had a good season and gave his best in the playoffs, but he can't do any better. Its time to sell high and get KG.

LOL cmon man The NBA didnt make them have 2+ Key turnovers with 1 minute left. And the NBA made dirk and terry miss their 3's.
Man Dallas had their chance, but it just didn`t happen this year. Look at the road ahead though. Try and make the team even better, all along with Avery Johnson, the road ahead couldn`t be any brighter.

Anyway, KG would be nice, but I still believe this team can win a championship with the players it has, all we need IMO are one or two key additions. Don't forget, we were 6 minutes away from going up 3-0 in the nba finals and a possible sweep. I believe we need to draft either an athletic PF to back up Dirk and offset his skills, like dallasdude said, or a playmaking PG. We are weak at both of these positions

KEEP Dirk, JT and Devin H. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting WhiteManCanJump:</div><div class="quote_post">As we all know, Mavericks lost in the 6th game of the finals tonight. Choking would be for example if they were up 3-0 and Miami won the next 4. To people saying trade Dirk for KG, are you high? When has KG shown that he is the guy who can take over in the playoffs? Basically never. Dirk has shown that he is a better player in the postseason than in the regular season. He is the one guy they need to hold on to. He was dominant in the playoffs all rounds except for the FInals. He was under probably the most pressure of any single player on either team and he seems to have found it difficult. I like his chances of rebounding next year. Jason Terry brings a swagger to Dallas but he is not exactly an elite point guard. Him and Dirk have a trust in each other though, good chemistry and he can give you numbers when you need them. Devin Harris is also a guy worth keeping because of his speed. It's good to have a speedy guy on your team as we have seen with L. Barbosa and T. parker in phoenix and san antonio. The Mavs should listen to offers for everyone else. Keep JT and Dirk for sure though.

Mavs would've been further in the playoffs in past years if KG was on the roster instead of Dirk, irrespective of whether Nellie or Avery coached. Heck we'd have even won this year with KG. Superstars like KG make their teammates better. Players like Dirk need better teammates to make them better.
I believe giving up a double-digit lead with 6 minutes left in a game that would have put them up 3-0 is choking. That choke job led to the losses that followed IMO. Either way, although this team is looking pretty good right now, I would have to look at some offers. We might need a shakeup to get over the hump and win the NBA Championship.

Chances are if the spurs and mavs meet, itll be in the conference finals, if the seeding system gets fixed
