It was news to Wenger as the 23-year-old is a crucial cog in his Arsenal machine.</font></p> <font color="#000000">"I'm completely surprised,” he said. “And I would first like to check with him it's true.</font></p> <font color="#000000">“If it's not Adebayor then I think it's his agent. He had a contract at that time as well and I have never been approached by Manchester United. [Anyway] he has extended his contract here since then."</font></p> </font></p>
