Arsène Wenger believes his team will no longer be bullied by the ‘tricks’ of more physical teams.

Saturday’s 2-0 win over Bolton was certainly more functional than it was free-flowing. But the manager heaped praise on his side for the leaps forward they have made this season.

"The time when we could be bullied is certainly over,” said the Frenchman. “We can respond when it happens now and on that front we are much stronger than we were.”

A flurry of rash tackles and yellow cards in the first-half tested Arsenal’s mettle. In previous years they may have crumbled under Bolton’s physical approach but their response on Saturday illustrated how great an improvement the team has made.

"Bolton went back to their former game, which brought them success,” said Wenger. “They overused, a little bit, the tricks they have to make us nervous but I can understand that, given the position they are in.

“Overall I feel the referee kept the game under control. I don't think it was nasty.

“I feel the players, especially here where the pitch is so good, can escape the bad tackles and keep the ball moving quickly.”

Still, they're much better without "I'm the best" Henry. It's like a 180 degree turn around for the team.

I still miss the guy, he was so fun to watch, I'm still yet to see anything close to him in the prem, but his departure has benefited us greatly.

I think we play better football without King Henry, it means other players: Cesc, Van Persie, Hleb etc are allowed to do their own moves and it is paying off big time for us. My friends laughed at me when i said Cesc will be better then Ronaldo this season. Anyone want to prove me wrong?
