Werder Bremen net record profits</p> <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'></p> BREMEN, Germany (AFP) - German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen saw a three-fold increase in their profits last season, the team's annual general meeting heard on Monday. The club achieved a record turnover of 105.8 million euros, a 36 percent increase on the previous season, and an increase in profits from three million euros to 8.3 million euros. The four-time Bundesliga champions finished third last season. "We're a club without debts which thanks to the extraordinary quality of its personnel possesses wonderful reserves," said Werder chairman Jurgen Born. The club sold striker Miroslav Klose to Bayern Munich for 12 million euros during the summer, but still possess much sought after Brazilian playmaker Diego. Rivals Bayern Munich also achieved record profits of 18.9 million euros from an annual turnover of 225.8m euros, according to figures published last week.</div></p>
