<span class="titolo">Werder Looking To Extend Diego Stay</span></p><p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span class="sommario">Werder Bremen are looking to extend the stay of Diego at the Weser Stadion.</span> After the bad experience of losing Miroslav Klose, Bremen are set to put an improved offer to their star midfielder in order to keep him at the Weser Stadion for the foreseeable future.</p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">The 22 year old is set to be offered a contract until 2012 which will earn him €4 million per year.</p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">“The performance of the player has to be taken into consideration when making a contract offer” explained club manager Klaus Allofs.</p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Diego’s current deal runs until 2010.<span> </span>The package on offer would make him Bremen’s second top earner after Torsten Frings (€4,2 million).</p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">The Bremen management have reportedly already begun negotiations with Diego’s father Djair Cunha, who is also his father.</p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">The Brazilian international has already shown a willingness to remain in Bremen saying, “I feel good here.<span> </span>The club have given me the chance to show what I can do.”</p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman'">The move by Werder is a clear sign that they want to ward off the interests of foreign clubs, which will undoubtedly come if the player reproduces his glittering form of last season.</span></p><p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal"></p><p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">Diego is the one in green</p> </p>
