    In the NW Division.

    I know, it's a long way to the end of the season, but 1st is a good place to be anytime.

    :cheers:

    It's nice to have a solid one game lead. No guarantee it will last, but for now it's all ours--and after a brutal starting schedule. By January we will own it for good.

    If we still have the NW division lead in late February then I'll start to get excited, but I remember last year when we took over number one in January and how we faded after that. But, it is nice to see nonetheless.

    And here's a nugget from ESPN:

    Consider most of those games by the Blazers were on the road as well.

    I'm hoping that this edition of the Blazers won't "fade." We're very deep and we have great leadership in Brandon Roy. Not to mention that the worst part of our schedule is behind us. With more home games coming up, we should continue our great play into the foreseeable future.

    Just as long as we don't let down during the 'easy' part of the schedule. That has been a trend with the Blazers in the past too. Meet the tough challenge then not take care of games they should win.

    Very true. Hopefully those days are behind us.

    P.S. How's your health, mgb? Hope you're doing well.

    Our schedule to come is pretty daunting:
    @Boston
    @Toronto
    Orlando
    @Utah

    We could easily lose all 4, and be sitting at 13-10, and I wouldn't consider that fading.
    OTOH, we could win all 4 and be sitting at 17-6, which would put us in the top tier of the league.

    So, more drama ahead.

    Go Blazers!!

    If we win all 4 we would be 18-6 but we would be in the top tier in the league.

    I like our chances in all of those games. Roy has a gleam in his eye this year that bodes well . . .

    There was a difference in scheduling last year. Our schedule is massively front-loaded this year. If we're anywhere near the lead in the NWD by the end of 2008, I like our chances.

    I think 2-2 is very reasonable. I believe we'll take Utah, and probably Toronto, Orlando is a tossup (very dependent on how Greg/Joel match up with Howard), and the Cs are just a pipe dream at this point.

    4-0 would be unreal.

    Just wanted to fix that your ya!:cheers:

    The Blazers DID suck against the Celts tonight. Nobody came to play for Portland, and Boston played some tough D.

    How long do you think it will be till the Bulls quit sucking?

    When they get Derrick Rose and Ben Gordon some help in the frontcourt...or Deng pulls his head out of his ass. Bulls should still make the playoffs based on their strong backcourt, but they won't be truly good until they either sign someone in 2010, or trade Hughes' expiring contract prior to 2010 for someone good.

    To be honest, I would be thrilled if the Blazers somehow won the division, but I don't think it's going to happen. Did you watch the Utah game? They were VERY good. A deep and talented team, playing without Boozer and a gimpy D.Williams. Williams, Boozer, Okur, AK47, Millsap (he's a beast) Brewer, Harpring...even Kofus had some impressive burn.

    Anyways, I think the division is honestly theirs to lose. Injuries can always happen, but....

    I think we can finish above Denver, who if Nene were to go down would be hurting inside even worse. Utah, I think, is an excellent team and would be a good matchup for anyone in the playoffs based on their personal and how they play.
