<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Slightly more than a week remains before the NBA's trade deadline and Grizzlies president Jerry West is inclined to stand pat. West cited the team's depth as its strength. "We don't have anyone we want to trade," West said Tuesday before the Griz departed for a game tonight at Boston. "Could that change overnight? Sure. But we're not anxious to give away players that have a future with us. The thing that's saved us has been our depth." Translation: The Griz haven't liked any potential deals on the table. The trade deadline is Feb. 24 or four days following All-Star Weekend, which begins Friday at Denver. The Grizzlies won't have anyone represented in any of the league's showcase events. But that's fine with West, who is "pleasantly surprised" by the Grizzlies' position in the Western Conference. At the moment, the 30-22 Griz would qualify for the playoffs despite enduring a coaching change and several injuries to key players. "Frankly," West said, "we're delighted with where we are with all of the stuff that's happened. It's gotten to the point where (the injury situation) is ridiculous because we don't know who we'll have from one night to the next." </div> Source
I am a hardcore Grizz fan and I like the way things are going right now but 1st round of the playoffs and out is not what I want this year... The grizzlies have depth...Great! Acctually No its not hey its great that we can play 12 people a game and have 8 in double figures but thats not goin to win any 'ships. The grizz need to consider any option that may involve an all-star sucj as: B-Diddy, Artest (at the end of the season), Paul Pierce...etc.

Didn't you see why Detroit is the 2004 champs?
Lol... Darko Milicic and the 2004 NBA CHAMPS!!!!!! They won because they played balls out every game not because they have depth w/o looking at a roster i could name about 7 players at the most off that team..... So you mean to tell me you wouldnt take Baron Davis in place of J-Will?

I wouldn't want an injured proned player who jacks up too many shots either. I like J-Will better. Yeah, the Pistons had depth. Corliss Williamson, Memhet Okur, Lindsey Hunter, Mike James off the bench? Each player was good enough to be a starter dude. (Except Hunter). None of their players averaged over 20 ppg either, with 8 players with at least a 9ppg average. That my friend, is depth.
