G- Tony Parker G- Ray Allen F- Shawn Marion F- Dirk Nowitzki F- Elton Brand F- Kevin Garnett C- Pau Gasol CARMELO ANTHONY GOT <font size=""4"">F%&^%ED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</font>
Oh, I'm terribly sorry, did I forget to mention Carmelo got hosed. His team is first in his division, he's is putting up over 24ppg, over 6rpg, and hasnt missed a ton of games, ala T-Mac. I can't argue with Nowitzki, or Elton Brand FINALLY getting on the team, or the Matrix, who SHOULD be in the tiop of the MVP chats, however, as much as I love KG, this isnt one of his better years, his team is down once again, and coaches need to lay off of the reputation status they select with. Carmelo has now been left off 2 years in a row, while he puts up similar numbers across the board to the rest of his '03 classmates, LeBron, D-Wade, and CB4, and his team MADE the playoffs every year. Only Wade can say that, Bosh and LeBron havnt even sniffed if yet. The fans vote needs to ONLY BE A PERCENTAGE of the vote, ala the NFL, with coaches AND peers also submitting a vote, aswell, as former NBA All-Stars.
I would definitely put 'Melo ahead of Ray Allen. He's been having the better season and his team is in a better position. Oh well, maybe next year.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting vcwannabe15:</div><div class="quote_post">Where's B.Diddy, J-Rich, or any Warrior? That's hell messed up.</div> Hardly, no Warriors players are having a better season than any of those reserves. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post">I would definitely put 'Melo ahead of Ray Allen. You can't have Nash, Parker and a bunch of forwards.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">Hardly, no Warriors players are having a better season than any of those reserves.</div> One could easily argue that J-Rich is having at least as good of a season as Ray Allen. Hes playing on a better team too. Not that Ray Allen doesn't deserve it though.
Looks good to me. Simply put, Carmelo was the 7th or 8th best forward in the West this year. Glad to see Dirk on there; Gasol, Brand, and Marion all deserved it also

Carmelo got royalled screwed. He has had a great season, put up terrific numbers on a winning team and basically done everything he could to prove he is an All Star and has been overlooked. It's ridiculous really. Maybe he should be traded to an East Coast team and get on the All Star team that way LOL!!!
Everyone there deserved it, but damn man I feel bad for Melo. Meloz time will come though, im sure with these snubs hes just gettin more hungry. Also its Good to see Parker making an all star appearance.
I'm happy that Gasol made it as a fan, but looking at it from an outsider's perspective, I don't think he should have been on the roster over Camby, Anthony, or Paul. The Grizzlies are having a great year (26-22), and Gasol's numbers are impressive (19.5 ppg, 9.2 rpg). However, the Grizzlies are 3-11 in their last 14 games. Nobody seems to be talking about their losing streak, but Gasol plays a large part in their struggles. He's towards the bottom of the league in 4th quarter scoring with about 2.8 ppg, and the stats really tell the story in this case; he disappears when the game's on the line and the game is put in the hands of Bobby Jackson or Chucky Atkins. Gasol needs to get back to what he was doing about a month ago, and that's being aggressive and playing with toughness; he's really lost that edge as of late. Marcus Camby may have been hurt for a good portion of the season, but he still has more double-doubles than Pau Gasol. I think that the fact that Camby missed about a month of play should keep him off the All-NBA First Team and keep him out of MVP consideration, but he should have at least gotten the 12th All-Star spot with the amazing season he's having. SHOULD have made it: Marcus Camby or Carmelo Anthony Chris Paul SHOULDN'T have made it: Ray Allen Pau Gasol

I will say, easily, Marion, Brand, Nowitzki, yes. KG, MAYBE. He is a better player, yes, NOT having a better year, and I wont even say T-Mac is having a better year, although I guess a billion Chinese can't be wrong. VooDoo, I give much respect to Pau finally making it, and he should have. I'll say this. Had Marcus Camby not missed so many games, yes, he was a LOCK. However, you gotta go with Pau because of that, and I think it ultimatly was the deciding factor. Can mess with the 16-13-3 that Camby has averaged though.

Those stats should say everything you need to know about Gasol right there. He probably should have been an All-Star once, twice, or maybe even three times up to this season, and if the voting were held a month ago, I'd pencil Gasol in as a lock, but he's falling apart. He seems to always break down towards the end of the season and not play with the same intensity he entered the season with. I'd definitely consider him if I was in charge of putting together the team, solely based on his early season accomplishments, but I think I'd slide Garnett or Duncan over to center and add Carmelo Anthony or Chris Paul in his place nine times out of ten. BTW - Great to see your posting again; always great stuff!
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">BTW - Welcome back! (Don't think I've said that yet )</div> Good to be back, thanks! Now, here is what I hear aswell, which, should also make a case for Camby, which I dont understand. On the All-Star ballots, Gasol is labeled as a forward. However, you must have 2 centers on the roster, so, they just slide him into the 5 spot, where, both on the roster and the ballot, Camby is there. That, I dont quite get? Once again, as every year, someone gets snubbed. Although he is statisticlly having a career year, now his team is having it's worst season since '99, and that is Mike Bibby. Of course Nash is there, Parker, yes, and Paul, although rookies dont get in often (LeBron didn't) are having great years. But, if the whole "team reward" aspect is there, why didnt it apply say 3 or 4 years ago when Bibby was putting up 16 and 6 and his team was neck and neck with LA? Now he is at almost 20 and 8, and he doesnt even get mentioned? Some things, when it comes to this league, it's policiesand it's procedures, I may never understand, and wonder why I persue an attempt to be a part of it sometimes. (oh, ****, thats right, although the love is tainted, the checks never bounce!)

He is the best player on an elite team, he has to be there. I've named 6 who I believe are more deserving this year. Melo is having a great year, dont get me wrong, but really all he is doing is scoring. Everyone else on my list are multi-talented, versatile players. Melo is a scorer, and thats it. He doesnt rebound well, he doesnt play great D, and he doesnt even pass that well. Thats why i put him at around 7
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KICKSDADDY613:</div><div class="quote_post"> (oh, ****, thats right, although the love is tainted, the checks never bounce!)</div> I don't know if Mike Bibby should be on the team. I've been following his numbers, and he may have nice scoring numbers, but he's been having an awful year assists-wise. In fact, he's only passed the 10 assist mark five times this year. It's confusing as hell to figure out what the committee likes though. You have to feel like they put way too much of an emphasis on scoring by excluding Kidd and Howard, but then on the other hand, Rasheed Wallace makes the game, so then you start thinking that players from the league's top teams just got the spots, yet Pierce is on the team and Terry isn't. I just don't think there is a set logic for it.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">It's the fact Ray is a guard, Melo a forward. You can't have Nash, Parker and a bunch of forwards.</div> Yeah, I forgot about that. For some reason I thought 'Melo was listed as a G/F.
