Stotts Coach of the month How have none of you lemming homers posted this yet? http://www.blazersedge.com/2013/12/...med-western-conference-coach-of-the-month-for
Re: Stotts Coach of the month After last night's board comments during the 2nd large lead loss I think this may have saved his job for a couple more games.
FIRE HIM!!! I jest. I know there was some frustration with playing Mo for what some felt was TOO LONG! He knows more than me, and all I care about at this point was that sweet out of bounds play out of the time out that got Dame an open 3 at the end of the 4th. Perhaps less noticed, was he substituted Mo into the game for the final Faker play where Lillard blocked that shot. Indiana and Portland have a lot of similarities. And it's not surprise they are leading their respective conferences, in hind sight of course. I was to cautious to say the Blazers would be in the top 4-6 to start the season. But like the A-Team, I love it when a plan comes together.
Hopefully it’s a good thing for him! George Karl, Mike Brown, Byron Scott, Sam Mitchell, Avery Johnson, Hube Brown all won it recently and were basically fired a year later. Do coaches have bonus’ in their contract for coach of the year? Mike Dunleavy was the last Blazer coach to win it, in 98-99 for the strike season team. Mike Schuler won coach of the year for his first season as the Blazers coach in 1986-87 and was fired a year and a half later.
Its crazy how often coaches are hired and fired. Monty Williams is the 5th longest tenured coach in the NBA! He was hired June 7th 2010. Erik Spoelstra, Rick Carlisle and Scott Brooks were hired in 2008. Popovich was hired in 1996. Thibodeau was hired days after Monty in 2010. So the other 24 out of 30 coaches in the NBA are in their first three seasons. 13 coaches are in their first season.
Oh... Nate. What are you going to do with you? lol Take it take it easy, or we may need to consider shipping you to Indiana with the other Nate.
