The Lynx played without stars Candice Wiggins (knee) and Seimone Augustus (abdomen) but with guard Lindsay Whalen, the former University of Minnesota star picked up in an offseason trade, in their season opener Saturday in Tulsa. And it worked.

Whalen finished with 10 points, including two fadeaway jumpers that helped hold off the Tulsa Shock in the final 3 minutes, helping the Lynx to a 80-74 victory.

    Whalen also had six assists.
