This article was posted a while back (I think it was in BBF days), but I thought I'd bring it up again. Many seem to be very displeased with Maurice Lucas as a big man coach. While I don't honestly think it makes that big a difference in a players game, what about the idea of bringing in Buck Williams as a coach? http://www.portlandtribune.com/sports/story.php?story_id=122047302826178600 Here's the link to the article and he says he'd like to get into management and or coaching, and has said he'd love to come to Portland to do it. How cool would it to have one of the hardest playing, most blue collar players in the history of the league coaching our big men on the tricks of the trade. Of course, Maurice Lucas is kind of in that same boat, and people aren't real happy with him, but anyway, just a thought.
I'm not saying he's good or bad, but who's not happy with Lucas? Management, players, fans? If it's the two former I've yet to hear anything and if it's fans, what the hell do they know about Lucas' ability to coach big men? As for Buck, sure it'd be great to have him back in Portland if he actually has coaching ability; just because he was a monster on the glass doesn't mean he knows how to pass that knowledge on.
