Marcus and #10 for #7? It's no Elton Brand trade, but it get's the Clippers a PG without reaching for Augustine at #7 and allows them to use #10 on another need. Smart move for them and we get a shot at a better prospect. Maybe we can even get them to swap 2nd rounders too and move up from #40 to #35. So it could look like Marcus, #10 and #40 for #7 and #35. Seems fair.

Wait, you are trying to convince the Clippers to move down 3 spots in the draft with Marcus Williams? That is laughable enough, but then please explain why any team would want Marcus over DJ
I don't see why its laughable. They've shown interest in Marcus Williams before and the guy is only 23 years old. Would they really get a better offer for the 7th pick? What teams out there would give them a good prospect for a mid lottery pick?

But since it's laughable on so many fronts maybe we should just lock this thread and stop the discussion all togther. I don't want to waste the time of the superior and more knowledgable posters on this board.

It's not as bad as people are making it out to be but I don't think the Clips would go for it. I think the biggest problem w/ Marcus is that he and Frank don't mesh well together at all. Not saying he's a starter or anything, but if it were a different coach I think a lot of people might have a different opinion. If nothing else it would be pretty cool to see Marcus Williams passing to Marcus Williams!

Portland is going to move Jack this offseason and I could see them moving up 6 spots with him. The 2nd rounders are garbage anyways, we have like 3 of them and don't need them because we have too many players as it is. Portland is looking for a SF or PG upgrade. They recently turned down Outlaw and 13 for Mike Miller that the grizzlies tried to offer. And Calderon is officially off the table because the Raptors have found people that are making offers for Ford. The only PG I see leftover that Portland would make a run for is Hinrich and if that doesnt work out you look at the draft. At #7 I could see Portland hoping for a guy like Bayless, Mayo, Gordon to fall. If none of them fall then Westbrook is the pick. Moving up 6 spots and nabbing Gordon, Bayless or Mayo is worth it for Portland IMO if all they give up is Jack.

Jack is a mediocre bench player, always will be. Marcus is already better than him at passing and rebounding, and has a lot more potential.

Both of them have horrible assist to turnover ratios so your claim of him being a better passer is off. And like I said, 38% shooting is horrible.
Kevin Love is the guy that I really want the Nets to get if they trade up in the draft and decide to keep the pick.
