George is old, QBs suck, D is really bad, the list could go on. There were so many expectations but they were overrated.

They need a healthy team. The final nail was Terry Glenn, he made defenses respect the deep ball, they now just load up to stop the run and the short passes because we have no certified deep threat. We have many problems but health is the # 1 problem and it will kill any team if they have enough injuries. If we could have stayed healthy and played mistake free games then we could have went pretty far.

Cowboys star is on rise again, just need to fill some weaknesses on D, at CB and LB, as well as SS. Offense will be good with Jones and Henson.

The absences of three things put the Cowboys at 4-7.

    1. Woodson's leadership in the secondary.
    2. Glenns disappearance from the deep ball.
    3. Jones getting hurt which made the running game disappear.

They have other areas of need, but this is basically what has changed them from 10-6 to 4-7.

A real GM is what Dallas needs most.

I've never been a big Jerry fan, but he has shown great improvement in this area. Jerry can be a good GM if he can continue to make his decisions based on the opinions of the experts that he has hired, rather than his own personal feelings.

He has been using good resources lately, such as Ron Wolf, which will continue to be a big help.

He is faltering this week, and it will be interesting to see how he handles the Henson benching by Parcells.

Dallas has the lightest defense in the league and they wear down... They need some big bodies up front in the front four and they need a Quarterback who's not 40+ years old.

A young receiver they can develop would probably help, too...

The Rams are losing and the Giants lost yesterday so guess what? We are only one game out of the wild card race. This parity thing is sure causing some crazy bounces to happen. Thanks for the welcome back Cowboy71. My job went to 7 days a week from can till cant so something had to give. Its good to be back.

well i think that the expectations for this years team were very very high.
if you look at the ppl added and the ppl gone, the team *should* be better, but take it from parcells..."i think the team will be better, but have a worse record." i mean eddie george, the workhorse of the titans last year, had a pretty good year, at least better than hambrick
marcellus wiley, a great DE expected to be a good threat...nothing!! this was my biggest dissapointment..and T. Newman...i mean with woodson at saftey he could be over the corners and that makes roy williams the hard hitter he is, but now with woodson out roy has to play up top to help with coverage, now opposing recievers are not afraid to take middle of the field.
as for vinny. at first. in the minnesota game, he showed better than quincy. but im not sure what happend, after the clevland game he has thrown more INTs from what i saw.
as for revciever, i think that it was an upgrade from galloway to keshawn, but the majority of the INTs from vinny are forced to keyshawn...

this team has played ok, but think of the other teams in the nfc! only 5 nfc teams with a winning record,
as long as we get wild card, i will be satisfied, but...if from some supernatural way, the cowboys can pull it off superbowl would be great!!

At the beginning of the year, I predicted that Dallas would be a better team that the previous year, but their record would be no better. Obviously, I underemphasized that last part.

I am convinced that the defense is underperforming. Sure, Dallas added players, but it was on the offense side of the ball. That isn't the problem. From a scoring standpoint, we are on the same offensive pace as last year...without a running game. On defense, we have already given up more points than we did all of last year. Our offense has to do more than last years offense just to keep pace, and we aren't winning games by scoring less than 20.

Pack Attack is right on the size of the defense in part. Parcells knows it, and he has always preferred bigger players than he has. Unfortunately, he didn't have the opportunity to make as many changes as he would like. I haven't look at the free agency list for this coming off season, but Dallas has the money to make some noise if there are his type of players available.

also, mario edwards is gone....which helped last year.
    they added marcellus wiley.
    eddie george
    keyshaw Johnson
    Vinny Testaverde

    to name a very few.
but they did have a few good draft picks....but too late in the season to find them..
like a few of the corners have made some good plays...
    and julius Jones...
