?We want to establish how we?re going to play and that is we want to play aggressive defense, we want to create turnovers, block shots and we want to rebound the ball,? he said. ?(On offense) we want to push it up the floor quickly. You know, if they score we want to still push the ball up quickly and get into something that?s going to result in a good shot.? http://www.nba.com/suns/news/camp_040710.html That'd be so much of an improvement over those games watching Marbury walk the ball up and seeing us settling for outside jumpers (when it wasn't right) time and again. This could be an exciting year when we get to see D'antoni's work continue and see the influence Nash has on our game. What are some opinions out there? I am really liking that Amare and Marion will have the Olympic experience behind them (hopefully Zarko too or his missing summer league was for nothing ). Let's see what Brown can show Stoudemire! I think the Jazz will give us a tough run for those final playoffs spots (out of this year's lottery crop). If we get Q we'll have scoring from the bench in both his (or JJ's) driving and the offense they create for Zarko or Casey at the 3. If Barbosa develops a midrange game he'll be deadly. Backup power forward still looks rough though. With Amare on the bench the only prayer of frontline scoring would be Lampe (unless Vroman has some offensive talent, but I'm not going to transfer his draft camp success to the NBA just yet). A reason to start Jake I guess. Zarko will have a breakout year (that's my new chant). It goes without saying that the C situation isn't the best. Maybe we'll add Arthur Johnson if he does well just so we have someone for injuries. If Zarko manages to bulk up some he could get minutes at PF (I almost forgot). What changes do you think we'll see under D'antoni? Anybody you're looking for to have a great year? Summer league is days away... Then we'll have august and september to cool our heels Think we'll be successful in modeling ourselves after the Pistons (what it sounds like we're going to do)?
Oh, and check out the picture on the Suns.com page of Vroman looking confused with the rest of the players impatiently looking on... hopefully not a trend
They want to play agressive defense, and they get Q-Rich? That can work though, with Barbosa, JJ, Marion, and Amare the team can be a defensive force, but Nash and Q aren't going to fit well into that.
I really feel D'Antoni will really preech the running game on offense. With Marion is great on the break and is a great finisher by far the best on the team, Nash excels in the fast break and makes great decisions (Nash was a great pickup!), JJ and Amare are both forever improving and I know that they preached running to Amare last year and gave him video of Karl Malone to show him the benefit of really running fastbreaks. If we sign Q that is something he is known for, he is a great passer on the break, as well as a great finisher. On defense I see the Suns implementing a full court press. The Suns (if they sign Q) will be a very deep team and I can see the lineup almost like a defensive line unit in football with continuous movement, substitutions, and changes so a player can maximize their effort on the floor.
The Suns IMO will be one of the most improved team next season. They have lots of good and solid players and will progress as the season goes on.
yea, I see them being a very solid group. Not a championship caliber team though. I still think they are missing a solid center

Shaq, Duncan, Robinson, Big Ben, and sheed. I dont remember the last time a team won a title without a solid big man since the jordan era even then they had horace grant and d-rod.
They have improved this summer but they still have a long way to go expierence wise,if they keep their team together I think they will be title conteders in a couple of seasons they have potential stars at 4/5 positions and in a few years Amare will form into the dominant big man that all recent champion teams have had.
