Do you guys think that if the Nets tried to pick up Eddie Robinson he would be a solid pick up to come off the bench? What your guys input?

It seem just like yesterday, E-Rob was making a name for himself with his play in the playoffs with Charlotte mainly against Ray Allen in the Bucks in the 2nd round of the 01' playoffs. But he went to Chi-town and really faded out after getting the money.

As far as him coming to Jersey, I doubt it...He doesnt bring anything to the table that the Nets need in a wing player. I think if the we add another wing or perimeter player anythime soon, it has to be someone who can stretch the D with their shooting. Robinson isnt a good perimeter shooter, he is basically just a slashing athlete, we already have that in RJ, Rodney Buford, & Ron Mercer. Now we need a shooter to put in that rotation.

The only pluses I can see making for Robinson coming to Jersey is he would be an excellent fit in Kidd's open court style once J.kidd gets healthy but like I said Kidd already has plenty of athletic players willing to run with him on the roster already. Also Robinson can be a good defender from time to time but he hasnt shown the same level of defense in Chicago that he showed in Charlotte.

I wouldnt say I would be against picking up Robinson cause I remember right before the 03' season, the Bulls let Hassell & Hoiberg go. And they became very good complimentry role players in Minny. So this league is all about fit, a certain situation might just be a better fit for a player. Maybe playing in Kidd's opencourt style will bring back out some of that potential that Robinson showed a while back. But realistically he isnt what we need. We need a shooter. And a low post scorer who can scorer with his back to the basket, consistently.

I find it kind of funny that there are threads all over the place about Eddie Robinson soon after getting bought-out.

He got his paycheck, he isn't gonna work hard for anything more. He my play well on his contract year, and he plays a little defense, but really, his lack of work ethic hurts him and is greater than any strength he has in his game.

He could be decent. But from what I've seen, I highly doubt it.

The Nets need a shooter in the worst way. I don't see how E-Rob helps that.

if robinson aint running on a fast break he aint scoring. He HAD potential but now hes 28 and his jumping and dunking ability will be soon fading. hes an athletic dude and hes either too scared or too lazy to bring a decent game every night. If he played hard i would say snatch him up but his attitude is not right for any team in the nba.
Im from chicago and Im a bulls fan and im happy they bought that dead weight off.
