Has he surprised anyone at all and do you think he will make the team?

The Blazers have lost every preseason game that Morrison hasn't scored in. They've won the games he's scored at least a point.

As Morrison goes, so do the Blazers.

    Just sayin'

HCP said it all with that post.

Being realistic, regardless of whether or not it's Morrison, your 15th man will just be a scrubby player that will be unlikely to even get in the mix with the already scrubby bench rotation the Blazers have. So why not bring in a fan favorite that has NBA experience?

It just seems like a good business decision on the Blazers' part. If we're going to give some guy NBA money, would we rather have someone that will sell his weight in jerseys, or someone who no one will recognize, will average 2 ppg, play in 31 games, and spend most of his time in the D-League? Easy choice.

Because Morrison doesn't have a guaranteed contract and we already have 15 guys with guaranteed contracts. So, we either need to request, and receive, a Disabled Player Exception for Elliott Williams, or cut someone (and continue to pay them) with a guaranteed contract. Has Morrison really been "impressive" enough to justify cutting someone else with a guaranteed contract.

If we did receive a Disabled Player Exception for Williams, Morrison could be signed for one year at up to 50% of William's salary (50% of $1,442,880 = $721,440). If we do get a Disabled Player Exception do we use it on Morrison or wait to see who else gets cut by other teams? Most teams are currently carrying between 15 and 20 players. So, there will be a LOT of players cut as all teams must be down to 15 by opening day. Assuming we get a Disabled Palyer Exception, I'd go ahead and cut Morrison prior to opening day and see who else gets cut by other teams. If no one better than Morrison gets cut, we can always sign him after opening day (assuming no one else swoops in and signs him out from under us - I'd be willing to take that "risk").

    I didn't realize ya'll had a full 15 guaranteed.

Who would be the next on the chopping block, if not Williams?

Adam Morrison would replace Sasha Pavlovic. (Coby Karl would replace Elliot Williams.)

Well in that case, what the hell does Pavlovic bring to the Blazers that Morrison can't?

If Pavlovic gets cut, does he not sign with some Montenegrin league, where he essentially serves the same purpose for the team that Morrison would for the Blazers?

Sasha only makes 1.2 mill next season, and considering Morrison's popularity in the area, especially with the abundance of hipsters in the area that will probably buy Morrison merchandise, wouldn't signing Morrison be a gamble that Paul Allen can afford to make?

If it were purely a basketball decision, I'd cut them both, but there's a lot of marketability in Adam Morrison, especially in Portland.

Do you realize that Portland has the world's largest Montenegron population outside of New York City? There is a mom and pop kiosk on literally every corner in Portland selling Montenegron sausage. You don't notice them at games because the Montenegroes have to sit at the back.

Meh, he is not very good, but with our bench so weak he has a chance, I realy don't care one way or another

I think Karl has been easily better, and Sasha hasn't been bad enough to take A_am over his guaranteed contract....regardless who is paying it

I looked at Sasha's career stats, and while they're not glamorous, they're not bad. Decent 3 point shooter.

Pavlovic has proved he's an NBA player. Morrison has proved he isn't. If we're keeping somebody without a guaranteed contract it damn well better be Coby Karl rather than Ammo.

Someone needs to start a Stash the Stache (on the end of the bench) campaign.

He's not the best option for our 15th player.
