Are you guys happy that the NBA is getting every year more and more foreign players? Does this affect the us baskeball players? I do think that in a way weak the us basketball, we all can see it during international baskeball tournament, the last Olympic games for ex! IN another way keep the popularity of basketball growing in the all world. What do you guys think?
I Have no problem with players that come from other countries.if your'e a good athlete and your'e not American,so what.there are plenty of great athletes here and abroad, and it just so happens to be that in last several years NBA Players just happen to be from Europe and Asia.i don't know about weaking the US Players, but it makes for good competition. And does it really matter where today's NBA Players come from? Not to me,anyhow.
I think it's a good thing that we have international players. It keeps the NBA game more diverse. Many of the American players these days grew up idolizing Jordan, which is fine and all, but now everyone thinks they can play like him. International players typically come into the L with a different set of talents. Not as athletic, but more fundamentally sound. Not great dunkers, but better shooters. It balances things out. Besides, many of these international players dream of playing in the NBA like American kids. If they're good enough, they should have the chance. I think what is hurting the L is drafting high schoolers. This is a difficult thing, because as a Cs fan, I'm phyched to have Al Jefferson. And the idea of Lebron not being in the L is already next to impossible to imagine already. But it is really hurting the college game, and therefore indirectly affecting the NBA. There are fewer players with the fundamentals and team concepts these days. Not to mention that every other high-schooler thinks he can be the next Lebron and declare for the draft, then end up not playing and never developing a career, and not being eligible for scholarships. They lose out on an education AND a better shot at becoming a NBA player. I dunno. But I have no problem with International players.

That's against the rules (promoting other sites) 2. That site is crappy at best. 3. You will never go far / anywhere with that kind of site. Stay in justbball.com
I don't think anybody has a problem with having alot of european players in the game. If you're talented enough to make the league then it shouldn't matter where your from. Dirk, Peja, Hidayet, Mehmet, Darko, especially Yao and the list goes on is great for the game.
If anything they bring more fan appeal worldwide to the NBA.The players 30 standing xpert mentioned have highlighted the NBA Particulaly Yao.like i said before,it really doesn't matter if the NBA has foreign players or not,as long as they can play.isn't that the only thing that matters?
I think international players coming to the NBA is a great thing. I does bring diversity to the NBA. I think everyone deserves a shot in the NBA no matter where they're from. My favorite NBA player, Pau Gasol, is an international player. I think they have to work harder because they have to adjust to nba style of playing.
More good players is a good thing, wherever they come from. And I agree that it does help add diversity to the game. But don't equate the Olympic US fiasco with the NBA game. The US played terribly because of a poor mix of players, a difference in the 3 point line, better world teams, lack of practice, different rules, mugging inside the lane.... have I left out any other pathetic excuses??
only 11 pecent of the international ball players, who have entered the L, since 1990 have had a "significant" impact on their respective teams ***its not that big a deal***
International presence is a great thing. The NBA is the greatest basketball stage in the world, and the more international players exploit it, the more it opens the NBA up for talent from everywhere.
yes, and the more the NBA opens up to international players, the resulting transfer of basketball knowledge will leave the american team even more vulnerable to upsets in the international stage. think about that.

Everyone loves watching the 92 Dream Team dismantle everyone else, but you can only watch so many games that you know from the start are gonna be blow outs. US players need to get their egos checked every once in a while. The only bad thing may be that, because no GM wants to miss out on the next Dirk or Pau or Peja, they may be willing to take risks on intn'l draft picks. Becuase these guys play overseas, scouts simply don't know as much about them, so it's more of a risk. We may see more successful intn'l players come into the L in the near future, but we may also start seeing more busts and teams wasting their draft picks.
That's a good point, but you have to consider that if the influx of players continually increases, scouting resources overseas will increase.
my point is that boneheaded, clueless fanboyz should no longer wonder why even an all-star laden US team will find great difficulty playing against better-coached, team-oriented international squads. yes, i'm all for parity and that's why i'm very excited about international basketball.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheNextJordan8:</div><div class="quote_post">youre point?? itll increase every year</div> no it wont...it means only one player drafted per year makes an impact that, imo, is not that big of a deal
