Kobe hasn't hit 1 3 ball all season yet, what's up with that? This is a guy who's known for having a good 3 shot so what's going on? if its his new gameplay strategy its not really benfiting the team, its just weird thats all. Tim duncan has more 3's than kobe this season.

However, I don't think Odom has gotten the message yet.

Man Kobe isn't known for hitting the 3, where the hell you hear that? Dude jacked up so many 3s last year, I'm glad he's not doing it this year. Odom isn't shooting a lotta 3s this year but everytime he does, it almost always misses. I hope he never shoots a 3 unless the shot clocks going down.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Johnnybrasco:</div><div class="quote_post">your right the guy tied for most 3's ever in a game with 12 isn't known for hitting the 3 </div> Yeah we know he and D Marshall hold the record for three's in a single game. But he was just extremely hot that night. Kobe is an ok three point shooter. A career .332 3pt shooter. And for the first 4 games was it, he was shooting over 50% and they were doing good. Just he and the Lakers can't score like the defensive Cavaliers in the mid 90's.
When you have the abilities of a kobe bryant there should be no need to take 3's. Thats what the opponents want he should take it to the hole everytime!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Johnnybrasco:</div><div class="quote_post">your right the guy tied for most 3's ever in a game with 12 isn't known for hitting the 3 </div> that was 1 game. if u know kobe game, u know that 3s isnt his speciality
Don't count on Kobe to be a 3 point guy. He can make them of course, but he specializes close to midrange shots. If Lakers as a whole kept 3 point shots to the minimal, they would be winning more and more games.

Here are his two best years from behind the arc: 124/324 and 131/387. Outside of those two years, he's never, and I repeat, NEVER hit more than 71 in a season. Yea, definitely known for knocking down those threes
The Triangle this season is built around Kobe in the 'attack' position. It's the same offense PJax used with Jordan, and it's designed to keep Kobe in the post and midrange area of the court. The Triangle offense basically puts your best player in the post to score or draw the defense to open up the court for your teammates. When Shaq was on the team Kobe played more on the perimeter, because Shaq was the better option in the post. Last year the offense was undisciplined so the Lakers bombed the 3ball on offense, which is why Kobe took so many 3's. I expect Kobe to shot around 100 for the season

He spent all summer working on his conditioning so he could move without the ball and hit mid range jumps all game long. A few summers ago he worked on adding a three point shot to his game, because with Shaq in the middle Kobe had more opportunities to shoot the three ball within the Triangle. Now those 3point opportunities are being taken by Lamar Odom because Odom is on the perimeter (for now) initiating the offense.
Wow...Kobe's an average 3 point shooter, with a high clip in the clutch. As for this season, they don't need him there. That's all there is to say.
I think it's because he doesn't get as many open looks anymore. The 76ers don't have much of an inside pressence, so opponents don't get sucked inside like they did when the Lakers had Shaq.
I'm not going to claim to know the intracies of PJax's offense but if he wants Kobe to shoot 50% from the field then why wouldnt he want him shooting 3s when he shoots 33% from three for his career? 33% from three and 50% of 2s evens out to the same amount of points... am I missing something?
It is frustrating as a fantasy manager, but he makes up for it with his other stats. You can't really say that he's a great three point shooter simply because he hit 12 threes one time. VC hit 8 threes against Philly in the ECF a few years back, why not give him the same accolades as Kobe? It is interesting to me that Phil is taking this approach. I think that part of it has to do with the fact that their rebounding is mediocre. Kobe in his best year shot about 39% from three (I think). Shaq isn't down there to clean up for him, so why let me mess around out there? Now teams can actually afford to double Kobe on the perimeter since the Lakers have little inside game. The effects of losing Shaq are never ending.
I read somewhere that Phil Jackson wanted the team to take like 12 3 pointers every match at most or close to that. He didn't want them to waste possesion. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
