He is a restricted free-agent and the Pistons can match an offer for him, his playing time has decreased alot in the post season from averaging nearly 10 points per game in the regular season. Will a team offer him more than the MLE? Was Larry Brown not playing him due to the fact that he hoped teams would not be interested due to not producing in the playoffs? Put it this way If a team like Denver or Phoenix offer him a deal starting at around 6 million he is certainly gone. It's pretty much a lock that Rasheed returns and sign a long deal and would it be wise to have a guy sitting on the bench playing for the MLE? Would there be enough minutes to go around If Darko is somehow ready to produce down the line? Alot to think of in the off-season.
I bet the Bobcats would want him but they have no one really to offer for the Pistons. I think you should attempt to improve your bench since you have great starters anyway for the whole "team" aspect. Teams like the Heat, Sixers, Celtics and Magic could be interested since their C's aren't exactly cream of the crop, although Grant of the Heat did really well for his time there. They're the only team that I've mentioned who could offer someone worthwhile....
btw, did any local people hear Memo's post-game interview on AM WDFN? Memo was HAMMERED! lol if anyone offers Memo 6+ million, i think they might be overpaying for him. that just means more PT for Darko, so i think it works out for us.
