It just dosen't seem to have the same interest and quality about it, as in previous eras. The golden era was undoubtedly the 70s, with Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ken Norton, to name a few, the first part of the 80s belonged to Larry Holmes, then Iron Mike came along. The 90s was for Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, and even forty-somethings George Foreman, and Larry Holmes put up great fights. But now, it seems devoid of outstanding talent, what has gone wrong?
The problem is there all too big now. There are too slow and cumbersome to exite the way Ali did. I'd put a weight cap on the division, so you can't have limited freak shows like Valuev plodding about
What happened to England's heavy wieght David ... something? He had won the Commonwealth five years ago? He was pictured with some pretty famous boxers.
Was it David Price who won gold medal? Good point about putting a weight restriction, or maybe introducing a Super-Heavyweight division in the pro-ranks.
