Love of late mother, basketball fuel Kings' Greene - Melody Gutierrez - Sacramento Bee

Honestly didn't know this about him. That's pretty cool, a bit inspirational.

I have a hard time believing that he really "works hard", as Pratt said in the article, though. If he did, he sure had an odd way of showing it at Syracuse.

What motivates Donte Greene: knowing that he's a journey man before he's even played an NBA game.

I don't know how much time Greene is actually going to get playing behind Salmons and Garcia at the SF spot. Unless they play him some at PF. Otherwise if he exclusively plays at the 3, he probably will only get around 15 minutes a game.

I hope he does well though.

Well, looking at their depth of wings, I see: Martin, Garcia, Salmons, Douby, and Bobby Brown.

Martin and Garcia will most likely start, IMO.

Douby and Brown are undoubtedly guards, possibly point guards - of which, the Kings also have Beno Udrih (that's it).

Salmons can play the shooting guard position.

I think, with all those things in mind, Greene should be able to find some time at the SF spot.

Well I figure Martin will play 30 minutes (at least), and so will Salmons and Garcia.

    SG: Martin (30), Salmons (18)

    SF: Garcia (30), Salmons (12), Greene (6)

    Yeah, last season it went:

    Martin 36 min
    Artest 38 min
    Salmons 31 min
    Garcia 26 min

So I'm thinking Garcia will get Artest's minutes, and Donte can still come in and provide ~20 mpg.

Especially if someone else comes down with an injury, as Martin did last season for 20 games.
