The Raiders may be the worst team in football right now. In fact, they may be the worst team to take the field in the past couple of years. The team is in disarray - Jerry Porter is being an ass and hurting the whole team, they refuse to trade him (and now that Branch was traded for a 1st rounder, they definitely won't trade him for anything less), and Brooks went down - not that he was going to be their savior anyway. So what do the Raiders do? I think they throw in the towel. Call it quits 2 games into the season - recognize the season for what it is - a complete loss. There is a huge opportunity here with all the quality players they have on that team. I would start trading away veterans. You could probably pick up 3 good draft picks for Moss, at least a mid-rounder for Porter, send Jordan packing for a mid-rounder and then start with that defense. Any veteran who is looking at the end of his career (knock knock Sapp) should be traded to a team that wants a little extra push and a big name. Any young players who have a ton of potential should stay (Gallery). When all is said in done, the Raiders could enter the draft with a huge pile of picks. If they wanted, they could package those picks together to move up and stock their roster with prospects. Oh, and they need to do one more thing - FIRE ART SCHELL!
This is easy get new ownership. Al Davis should have sold the team long ago. You're not going to find enough buyers to make all those deals. Teams are built through the draft, so they're considered very valuable by most with the exception of Dan Snyder.
Ouch, I feel sorry for the Raiders fans on this board. That said, they don't seem to be making their offense and defense click very well, lol.

Between those three you could probably find 5 or 6 decent picks.

Please I wouldn't want him for a bag of chips. Unless they were Cape Cod then maybe we could talk.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pack Attack)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Raiders should send Gallery and Moss to Green Bay for "past considerations."</div> How about Moss. Gallery looks a lot like Tony Mandrich to me.
I gotta go with Bakes on this one. Al Davis has many strengths, but player evaluation and coach evaluation is not one of them. Norv Turner has admitted that he wanted to be a head coach so bad, he picked two of the worst franchises to coach. The only reason Art Shell agreed to come back is because they are the only team that would give him a chance. On the flip side, I doubt there were a lot of people hoping the be the next coach of this team either. If you have a offensive coordinator that should be running a bed-and-breakfast, thats a tough leap of faith for the team. Aside from his antics, Moss obviously still has more talent than is showing. I believe Gallery does too, although he looks pitiful now. There are some bad teams that you can see a hope for the future in, but I don't see this team at least moving anywhere near the right direction. Al needs to take a page out of Jerry Jones's book and admit he has some weaknesses and trust someone that is more knowledgable than him to make those decisions and give it time. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (vikingfan)</div><div class='quotemain'>There is a huge opportunity here with all the quality players they have on that team.</div> This quote is their problem. If they cant coach and get good results out of quality players and talent, they aren't going to get much from the draft picks they trade them for either. Its a catch 22.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pack Attack)</div><div class='quotemain'>Maybe Al Davis can lure Ron Wolf out of retirement? </div> LOL. Thats good. Not sure Davis is smart enough for that, but I'm confident that Wolf is smart enough for both of them for that not to happen!!!
Al Davis should sell the team to someone who knows something about football. Raiders have been trying to build and bulid the team on speed and only speed. When you do that the opposing team will run all over you. They put Darnell Bing at LB, which right now isnt the anwser. Bing is too small and isnt a sure tackler. Bing is a good safety but not a good LB.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kcgsc)</div><div class='quotemain'>Personally, I think the Raider's season is shaping up quite nicely! </div> spoken like a TRUE Chiefs fan!!!
The Raiders have never recovered from their Superbowl year where the average age of the team was something ridiculous like 30...Rich Gannon, Tim Brown, Jerry Rice, etc. and then they kept adding veterans like Warren Sapp and not doing enough to start a youth movement and get their young guys playing time. Hell, Moss isn't a spring chicken anymore! Neither is Aaron Brooks! They definitely need to start hoarding draft picks and say "screw it." I agree 100% with Vikingfan.
So what is your projected record for the Raiders this season? 5-11? That seems pretty conservative right now.
Playing the Texans at home looks like their only winnable game to me, if they keep playing the way they're playing. If San Fran has an off day, they "might" be able to beat them, too. But that's a brutal schedule they have there... Observe: http://www.nfl.com/teams/schedule/OAK They have a bye this week, though, so at least they can't lose on Sunday.
I think putting the cryptkeeper back in his crypt and letting someone who hasnt turned senile and crazy run the team might yield better results. I mean, they are like the only team in league that still uses 7 step drops. Death to all QBs
Draft... -thinks- -thinks about something else- Draft uhmmm the one QB from ND and Randy Moss sucks ass...Just to let you know...
