It's pretty obvious this team needs a good center to maximize it's two best offensive players. The center doesn't need to be amazing, just be good at center things: guarding around the basket, finishing easy buckets, running in transition. Nurkic is not that guy. What do we do with Nurk given his contract? Does anyone even want him?

I'm one of the biggest Nurk fans, but he got overpaid. Saying all that, we should look to get more mobile and athletic. I'd keep an eye out on the Ayton situation.

Are we losing Hart? I don't want to, but if they aren't willing to pay him because of GP2 and Shae than package him with Nurk to get an upgrade.

Sign Oden to a 3-year vet minimum deal, use Nurkic as spare parts to rebuild Oden.

    Problem(s) solved!

Nurk's contract makes him a negative asset around the league. Combine that with the fact that we have no other options to match up against the bigger centers in the league; we're stuck with this for a couple years. It's best we just come to grips with the reality that his inconsistency is going to be the most consistent thing about him.

We won. Not gonna panic over a player having a bad night. If this becomes a pattern, then ok.

He'll be fine. No reason to make snap judgements based on one game.

He is what he is. You're either okay with that or you trade him

seriously, its pathetic how nurk has become a scapegoat for our fans

he played really well defensively tonight (but apparently that doesnt matter), offensively he looked bad and some things (missed layups, flip shots, turnovers, frustration fouls) will never change, thats who he is

He's also going to need to adapt to playing with Grant - he hasn't had a big wing that can create offense playing next to him.

I see 5 reasons why he would be the scapegoat in your post. So it shouldn't be surprising lol

Nurk has been playing like this for years though. He has poor footwork in the low box. He constantly takes quick off balanced shots down there. This isn’t a one game thing. Next game he could look like an all star. He’s frustrating

Maybe with Billups taking him out when he plays soft he'll finally go stronger to the hoop.

We get an awesome opening night win and the main thread I see is how do we get rid of our center who can't be traded for two months.

Lets give Nurk a bit of time to get his game going also. Some teams he will match up better. I'm not a great fan of Nurk but he is who we got and we all know there will be times he will be what they need.

I like Nurk but think Myles Turner would be better fit.

    Nurk + Little for Turner?

can’t happen yet but could before deadline.

Ben Golliver just wrote an article on the Washington Post that lists the top 100 NBA players. Nurkic was listed at 96th, which I thought was just about right.

If you're curious, Ant was 86th, Grant was 74th, Dame was 10th.
