Could we seriously get blown out of every single remaining game without him losing his job? I mean, it's not like this draft is worth tanking for. Scoot would be runaway #1 pick if he was declaring this year.

People are really bad at telling the difference between two different questions, it seems. I guess they both have the word "Chauncey" in them, so if you can only read one word per sentence, you might get confused.
So one is what will it take to get him fired and one is how long a leash he should have?
Hmmmmm sound kind of like the same question? I guess you could say it’s different but I’m not sure you could sell that at Walmart.

Avoid the dreaded "fire the Coach". Chauncey has vast NBA experience he wants to share with Portland. Simply move Billups up the ranks to VP of something Blazery. Then give a new coach an opportunity to run something other then a 2-3 zone with PG's on the baseline providing hopelessly futile defense around the basket.

While that sounds great, I doubt Chauncey would agree to it, unless he’s just done with coaching entirely. Chauncey was going to get a FO job anywhere honestly, my thought for why we picked him was because he wanted to coach more than be an executive.

If he wanted a FO role though, I’d love to keep him. Still a HOF PG, still will offer a lot of insight for Scoot.

As opposed to making 15 threads about that one word?

This thread is just another lane in the Chauncey highway.

And no, Chauncey is not a highway, and I do not want to ride it all night long.

Different questions demanding different answers. One was asked at the beginning of the season, one is an incredulous response to him not being fired yet. And one has a poll, too.

Fortunately I wouldn't set foot in Walmart.

Wow, mistaking a word for a person is even more of a mental illness. Look up the "use/mention" distinction.

Doubling down eh? Lol.

Question #1: So when will the temperature in Portland get back above freezing?

Question #2: Will the temps get back to freezing tomorrow, the next day, or sometime after that?

Yeah... totally different questions. lol. Come on bro.

Yeah, doubling down right now is wild lmao. People like him keep the world spinning round I suppose.

Ever heard Stephen Colbert tell the joke about how no one should complain about helping Ukraine and it doesn’t matter if gas went up to $10 a gallon but ended with saying because he owned a Tesla? That’s what you sound like right now lol.

Except the whole point of his joke was “yeah I’m a piece of shit because I’m this detached from the real world”. You sound serious lol.

yikes....I'm really glad there wasn't a 4th sentence in that post

Is the angry dad thing working? Tonight, i saw Coach Billups getting mad at the young players for really no reason at all. Chauncey sure doesn't get that angry with the big contract ballers.

I just want to put this out there. Chauncey has coached this team to two wins against likely playoff teams in Brooklyn and Toronto, with limited resources (even more limited than the roster already is because guys are out). No one knows how good Chauncey could be as a head coach until given a roster that makes sense and he just hasn't been afforded that for one minute since he took this job.

These opening day rosters weren't horrible.

Both of these opening day roster was way too fucking small and sucked because of it. No one could have coached these rosters with that imbalance to a significant amount of wins in the regular season let alone meaningful wins in the playoffs.

Joe Cronin said that both rosters were flawed and he wanted to assess what he had between the start of the season and trade deadline to make big decisions. He ultimately made moves at both trade deadlines to tear those teams down and aim towards the following season or maybe at those points he was already aiming at a total rebuild. I hope Joe has the stomach for a total rebuild because I feel like a lot of fans do not.

I don't disagree they weren't optimal. That small roster got to the playoffs the year prior, and it was much less productive under Billups.
