Seattle lost to the Suns 113 to 114, which really didn't surprise me because they are hurting without him, he was a great player down the stretch for them last year and his absence was definetly noticed on the court. He was a big presence in the post and i just don't think Swift is there yet to be a force. Even in Ray Allen scores 30 a night, it won't be enough. Jerome James was a great Role player and Seattle should be slapping themselves and shaking their heads for letting Jerome slip away.

There are aspects of his game that will be missed, but the fact of the matter is that he did't really play that much in crunch time anyway. There is no way that Seattle was going to take on the financial crutch that has become the new burden of the Knicks. As if they didn't have enough problems, nobody expects JJ to play very hard after that contract is signed.

Thank you. I really needed a good laugh. We lost an exhibition game to the Suns because we didnt pay Jerome James (and his 5 pts 3 rbs per game average) 5 year 30 million. .

Seriously, anyone know how the big fella is doing in NY?

I checked some of the PS boxscores and his name is absent in the first 2 games. Is he hurt?

As Shiek will tell us before this thread runs it's coarse, BGJ's impact can't be measured by his stats, yet i hold true to my statement that bballer is taking it way too far.

We will definately miss Jerome - he did keep people out of the lane, or at least make them think twice. But come on, a "great role player" - Jerome didn't do anything consistently enough to be called great. As long as Vitaly is healthy this year, we'll be alright. Between Nick, Fortson, Pot, Mikki and the twin teens, there is 48 minutes of serviceable C to be found.

Whats funny is that Jerome enjoyed all of a couple of months as the starting C for NY. Already demoted to the backup after the Curry trade, the only people that will be praising the signing 3 years from now will be NYC hotdog cart vendors.

JJ was injured the first day of camp, and I haven't heard a peep about him since then.

Swift has been starting in the middle for us in pre-season, but it doesnt mean he's gonna start in the regular season (i hope not). We've been playing withouth three guys, moore, pot, and fortson. thats like 800lbs we're missing. sure JJ had 1 good game in like...15, and for him..'good' meant 6-8pts, 2-3 blks, and 5 rebounds. so...yeah, although im worried too about our middle...I think we might be OK.

We missed Danny and Pot's physicality, not Jerome's mediocrity.

Also, ESPN has a rumor about NY hot after Theo Ratliff. Why, if you sign a guy to 5/30 do you need to sign a guy who has almost exactly the same game?

Of course it's just an ESPN rumor...I don't have insider.
