Well if we're playing this game than can we have Trout in CF rather than Ellsbury. I mean we should have the second comings of Mantle with Ruth, lol!

The Yankees need to hold Cashman accountable for all of his past transgressions and fire him. I'd worry about that money coming off the books and handed out to every F/A out there and the nice player he got this year being traded for broken down nags. The last time I remember Cashman getting an impact player who contributed to a Championship was Dave Justice back in '00. As long as Cashman is in there one must be concerned. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...^^^he should have been fired long ago...but instead they gave him a raise and a 3 year extension fix what he had already fucked up...but don't worry, there are plenty of Cashman apologists out there.

The '01 Series should have got him canned, more so the '04 series. How that guy has dodged so many bullets is beyond me. Now bring in Jeter as part of the ownership group and Cashman would be putting a short timers calendar on his wall.

...^^^Oh, I guarantee that if Jeter had a say in it he'd fire Cashman in a minute...Derek has a good memory I'm sure...The Boss certainly would have fired him a long time ago but unlike their Father, the young Steins don't have the passion for winning that George did.

I'd like to hope the 3yr extension wasn't a reward, but rather a reality play knowi g you're on the hook for ARod, Tex and CC over those 3 years and no decent GM would take that job that was basically a 3 yr gig to flail and then automatically expected to win in yr 4.

...I dunno, Hal has given Cashman a vote of confidence a few times and said he is happy with the job Brian has done...but then again, who knows?

I noticed Gregorius was missing from the "2019 lineup" (lmao).
Are we still having those "open tryouts for SS" from April and May?

"The '01 Series should have got him canned, more so the '04 series"

And why the above statement wasn't questioned or went unchallenged speaks volumes....
So I have to end the insanity.
Trust me, it's for the good of the board- there may be intelligent impartial observers who will think the board is top heavy with lunatics.
    Consider it a public service.

    Number One:
TORRE is the only one who should've/could've been fired after the 2004 series.
The Boss showed great compassion by not firing TORRE after that series and preventing him from becoming the eternal butt of jokes for Redsox fans and Yankee haters.

    Number Two:
2001 World Series, Yanks had a 2-1 lead entering the bottom 9th of game 7.
The tying run was unearned as a result of Mariano's throwing error.
Mariano faced 6 batters in the 9th inning and the only one he retired was on a bunt.
    Yanks lose 3-2.

    You're welcome!

When George spoke you knew what you were getting. Happy like his pop, you just don't really know what is PC BS from Steinbrenner heart.
