I know this is kind of a random question, but while discussing the combo of shaq and kobe the other day it made me think of what other big/small combo would've been amazing......oh and I almost forgot to mention, the big/small combo players would have to be from the same era.....so no Lebron and Wilt...lol. Personally I would take Jordan and Hakeem in their primes over damn near everybody (you can make an argument for Magic and Kareem). I mean Jordan had pippen (who was no hakeem) and dream had drexler (who was great, tut was no jordan). Imagine having to face both men on a nightly basis.....better yet imagine it being crunch time and having the option of going to Hakeem down low or letting Michael do his thing on the perimeter.....anways just leave some thoughts.
wilt and big O would dominate. A funny one would be wilt and pistol pete. both just love to score and need the ball in their hands. mj and hakeem is also great. for this era i would choose AI and KG.
Bird/ Jordan and Duncan - Bird/Magic and Dream - LBJ and Duncan >> you got two smart players who are all about winning - and fill up the stat sheet. Two guys who do great work individually and are even better with other great players BTW Dirk and Nash wasn't as good as you'd thought it would be cuz I know we'd be thinking of it as a contemporary choice had it not already happend
Shaq and Jordan! I never watched Wilt or Oscar play before. I know they had a dominating careers but i gotta see how they played.
Wilt and nobody- here's a line from NBA.com detailing the irrelative comparison from then to now. <font color=""RoyalBlue""> The Warriors shot only 29 percent from the floor in Game 2 and Philly blew them out, 126-95. Chamberlain had only 10 points this time but grabbed 38 rebounds. Greer got another 30 points and Cunningham 28</font> This was taken from his championship series for Phily in 67'. His other championship coming in 72' with the Lakers only after teammates Gail Goodrich 25.9 ppg Jerry West 25.8 - led league in assists. That being his 5th season playing with those greats plus <font color=""Purple"">Baylor</font> who everyone's familiar with. In their series vs the Knicks who had Reed out to injuries and DeBusschere injured in the series. This season was in the twilight of Chamberlain's career; Chamberlain won the Finals MVP with his performance in the last game in that series-- but for a guy with such a dominating individual game-- and him being on this list for the idea that those dominating #'s would contribute to a good team performance when matched with another great player, you'd think he'd be able to do more winning during his best years as a MVP----- not on a team where he is only part of the consistent machine. So I gotta argue against him- even in his own era as 1 of 2 players for a winning bigman/small combination.
Dream wise...who else but the Dream and MJ Realistic wise...GP and The Reign Man...imagine both of them in their prime.
