His PER is nearly down to what he had his rookie year.

    FG% down to 43% -- a career low.

His TS% is a career low of 48%

His DRtg is now in the 110's -- and a career low.

He doesn't look like the same player. Something is up.

Here's a list of some of the hypotheses floating around out there

    1. As mentioned above, his hip isn't at 100%

    2. His wrist may be bothering his shooting

    3. He always starts off a season slow.

    4. He doesn't feel like this is a playoff team, so he's not trying as hard to bang down low or get good shots.

    5. He's third banana on the team now, and isn't happy?

He got pissed off over Kevin Love bullying him around and reverted to his old power forward self tonight. Made some strong post moves and got aggressive on defense. But it was too little. I think Stotts has him watching way too much footage of Dirk Nowitzki.

LA doesn't have Dirk's court vision, shooting range or handle. You can't play like Dirk without those skills. It's not enough to be tall and have a very effective jumpshot.

Assclown McScribbles did many things wrong. But he did get Aldridge to play in the post more. I'd like to see him go back to it.

It's sad that it takes a scuffle to get him motivated, but it happens every time. If someone pushes his buttons, he suddenly becomes unstoppable.

Sheed was like that. If someone pissed him off and he didn't get ejected, it was ON.

LMA is pissed off from all of RipCity hating on him, jk.

That's where it starts, causing him to forgo summer training, lose a step, and more importantly lose confidence in a very rusty skill-set. Throw in a new coach, scheme, and team, and you got a recipe for Regression.

LMA needs time, and lots of it. Time to heal, build chemistry with his team, and time practicing on the block with a big-man guru. Luckily time is seemingly on our side.

He's just playing the same way he's played much of his career. The only difference is his jump shot is not as consistent.

He's shooting the lowest % of any starter....even our Lillard, Batum and Matthews, who all hoist up a ton of 3s are shooting better than our "all star PF" now that is pathetic. Wes is shooting better from 3pt range than LA is from the field. And it's not like LA compensates for this with tough defense and rebounding.

His shot looks fine to me - it's just that all the shots he's getting are LOOONG two-pointers, the least efficient shot there is.

We all hated the offense that was just dump it to Aldridge in the post, and now it's gone we're complaining about Aldridge? He's not a garbage player - he needs plays run for him. And he's not getting them. And, let's face it, when it comes to feeding Aldridge, Lillard is no Andre Miller.

I am now officially on the bandwagon to trade LMA if we can get a good return. This IMO is Lillaerd's team, we are set at SF and SG IMO with the way Wes is playin. I think we go after a C while Meyers develops and another PF. I'd take a look at Denver and look to get Faried/McGee and another player and pick. Too often team's don't make moves when their player has high value, whatever's goin on with LMA I don't really like what I see and we badly need depth and a tougher rebounding shot blocking interior and the 4/5. That's one idea - what's yours?

he's shooting 42% on his longer jump shots, which is just about (44%) what he shot last year. Except this year, only 18% of his shots are within 10 feet, where he makes 51% of them. Last year he shot 32% of his shots from inside 10 feet, for a 65% clip. Of his 21.7ppg, 10.2 came from jumpers outside 10 feet, 7.4 from shots inside 10 feet and 4.1 from FTs. In 2010-11, he shot 35% of his shots from inside 10 feet, at a 58% clip, but of his 21.8ppg he still had 10.3 from 10+ jumpers, 7.2 inside and 4.3 FTs.

This year he's shooting half as many shots inside as his last two "LaMonster" years, shooting only 15% of his shots inside and at a 51% clip. He's getting 13.2 of his ppg on long J's, only 3.6 ppg inside and 3.9ppg on FTs.

    So to recap:
2010-11: Shoots 45% FG% on his long J's, but since 35% of his shots are inside, he shoots a higher % and gets more FTs. 10.3/7.2/4.3 on points outside/inside/FT
2011-12: Shoots 44% FG% on his long J's, but 38% of his shots are inside. Higher eFG% and more FT attempts. 10.2/7.4/4.1
2012-13: Shoots 42% FG% on his long J's, but 18% of his shots are inside. Low eFG%, fewer FT attempts. 13.4/3.6/3.9

LA has never been a greedy player, stat wise. This year our wins have come from balanced scoreing from the starters or at least two starters lighting it up. I think LA is an established player already and is letting others establish themselves. Also PF's require someone to get them the ball and when Lillard and player X are lighting it up he doesnt get the ball untlil as much.

Um, LMA is shooting more FGA this year than ever. It's just that he's doing it largely by using the least efficient shot in basketball and going inside half as much as ever

The HOU game where he went for 27 points, he took 29 shots to do it. the 29 against SAS took 26 shots.

Edit: 4% of his shots this year are dunks and tips. Last year was 7%. 2010-11 was 9%.

Good point, but Im going to say apples and oranges though. Your comparing Nate ball with Stotts ball. We get more shots as a team and LA is being used completely different this year than he has in the past. He is more of an outside in guy now, which is what he was built for IMO.

Here we go again. The team is going to ignore the problem until he has no value left. Oden and Roy taught them nothing.
