I don't know man, but when I got the ESPN Classic Channel, I was looking forward to seeing Bird and the Celtics win some classic games, or M.J scoring 60 something pts. But out of the 24 hour programming schedule on ESPN Classic, 3/4ths of the time I see College hoops, I don't know about you but I am not a huge fan of college basketball, it just doesn't excite me at all as much as the NBA stars do. And half of the time its not even really that good of a game anyway, just a typical college game of a player before he came to the NBA. I dont know, just something I thought about right now and felt like getting the opinions of others who had the channel as well.
I know what you mean. I like classic pro hoops way more than classic college hoops. I've been lucky enough that the few college games I've seen on Classic have usually been Carolina games in which Jordan is electrifying. But on a regular basis, I'd want to see 60 % 80's pro hoops, 20 % other classic pro hoops, 10 % college classic hoops, and then whatever on the other 10.
I like ESPN Classics the way it is. You have NBA.COMTV playing nba classics all day already...no point in having two channels do that, I need variety!
I agree, half of the college games that they show are just regular games, but someone hits a buzzer-beater at the end. How does that make it a classic?? Besides, I've never been a big Laettner fan anyway, lol.
I like the epic battles of college ball, or even just ones where future NBA stars face off at the collegiate level. I could watch that as easily as classic pro hoops. Sadly, I don't get either Classic or NBA TV, so I've gotta run replays in my head(or on VHS).
well,I for one am glad they play the college games. I love the NBA,but I love college ball just as much. Seein' all those classic teams..UNLV..Loyola Maramount..Villanova...NC State teams with DT...Jordan at UNC...all the UCLA teams..all the classic Georgetown squads....I love all of 'em
Yeah I like watching classic basketball...and whats even more cool is that ESPN will show a classic matchup of that night's game from an earlier season...as the college season wears off, we'll start seeing more classic NBA games...but since it's deep in the heart of college season, it only makes sense that they show a lotta college games...
