Nice story: http://www.kgw.com/sports/Trail-Blazers-announcer-Brian-Wheeler-finds-birth-parents-173615911.html
Maybe Paul Allen will fly in the whole family to watch a game. Reporter Pat Dooris sure gave short shrift to the father. I guess men's feelings don't matter.
Is that like killing 2 birds with 1 stone? I looked up Mirsad Turkcan. The name just rolls off the tongue so easily. The Turkish Garbage Can. Made quite a splash before he played. Once they finally signed him for 3 years, they waived him months later. http://www.prosportstransactions.co...ndDate=&PlayerMovementChkBx=yes&submit=Search
He played his last game 1 month ago and then retired! http://www.euroleague.net/news/i/99480/180/rebounding-king-turkcan-to-play-farewell-game I feel terrible about turning a Wheeler tribute thread into a Turkcan tribute thread.
Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Boooooooooooooooooooy! You're right. I missed that completely. My apologies. You had me beat on this one by nearly a month.
I'm surprised that it took him this long to send away for his birth certificate. His adopted parents died 10 years ago, so it's not like he was avoiding hurting their feelings.
I think it probably had more to do with his struggle to lose weight. Dude's a shadow of his former self physically, but his levels of both confidence and comfort in himself has grown astronomically over the last couple of years.
Wheels has a very successful career going. His new family must be very surprised to discover a relation who is famous across Oregon, and more popular than any statewide politician could ever be.
