Notice When did you realize you’re old?

For me, it’s when I naturally started referring to college athletes as kids.

I’m now technically old enough for them to be my kids.

 

This is a subject I have given a lot of thought to. I have compiled a good sized list of "here is your sign you are old". Some are even funny. But....

Right now, I can not remember a single one.

 

Random, stupid little pains and ailments. Like “oh, i guess my elbows are gonna be shitty this month” then it will go away. I woke up one morning a couple months ago and my big toe was throbbing like crazy and it lasted for days. I think I sustained some sort of sleep-related sprain by kicking my blanket or mattress. So stupid.

 

Stopped caring about new music

 

when I told my son to turn down his volume when he listened to music that I couldn't stand...I had become my dad at that point.

 

Worried I was old when I started seeing second generation of athletes. Steph and Seth Curry. Ken Griffey Jr. Gary Trent Jr. Cheryl Ford.

 

When the last NBA player older than me retired, I started feeling old.

 

I like this one because I'm just younger than LeBron. That means I still have a few years.

 

Dude, you just experienced your first gout attack. Seriously. You might want to have a discussion with your doctor the next time you see him. It is NOT fun to deal with and can get worse. The medications (if even needed) are inexpensive and generally benign. But it is worth having the doctor check your uric acid levels. You’re young. Jump on it now.

 

I feel this, especially with the elbows. I am thankful for my pretty excellent health throughout my life, with no real major issues. But, my elbows and wrists can go through periods of intense soreness that kind of comes and goes. I am pretty sure it has to do with just how much I am on my phone.

 

The first time I started feeling old, I was about 30 and baseball coach tried to flirt with me. When I realized I was over the hill for a player to flirt.
Sigh. Lots of years ago.

 

When NBA players that were my age started to retire. Loved when guys like Marcus Camby and Juwan Howard were on our team. Has something to talk about with em. Now Scoot is 9 months older than my daughter….. it hurts FAMS

 

Greg oden borrowed my iodine and said he loved all my music, reminded him by of what his dad and uncles used to intern to at BBQs …….. that was the first one that really hurt….. sigh

Im 38 which isn’t that old and work a physical job long hours. Every morning I wake up and feel like a train wreck on my trip to the bathroom but then after that I’m good to go.
