When someone sneezes...

What do you say?

I find myself naturally saying, "bless you," but I was thinking about it the other day and I was wondering what you would say to someone who isn't a Christian? Or religious at all?

What is the non-religious thing to say to someone who just sneezed?

Funny because if you said the English translation of that, people would look at you weird.

 

Really? Have we become so pc that we have to question if it's ok to say bless you to someone who just sneezed?

If it offends someone when I say 'bless you' when they sneeze, I really don't give a rip.

Do you ever say "Happy Holidays" or do you stick exclusively to "Merry Christmas"?

 

I run away, so as not to get infected. I will typically wag a finger at them and scream prior to running away...

 

Merry Christmas....always. Then, when they sneeze, I say, "Bless you!"

This is funny.....we were just talking about this at work. I always look at the person and tell them, "I'd say bless you, but I haven't been to church in 20 years......who am I to bless you?"

 

You should just say "FAMS"?

 

I am of Jewish decent, and am atheist, so neither bless you nor merry Christmas work for me. That being said, if someone is nice enough to say bless you, or merry Christmas, I smile and say thank you.

I'm not picky about people being nice. However, if someone does say gesundheit or happy holidays, I appreciate that gesture a little more.

 

How about, "may Jesus Christ bless you?"

 

I was thinking " may you feel better than the evolutionary cousin of human, the Bonobo, having sex with the historical figure Jesus Christ"

 

I think we should compromise and say "Merry Christmas" to the person who sneezes.
