What's next on the list? I feel like we have to work on a back loaded "toxic" offer for Sessions. With the Bucks recent PG signings and Jennings great SL performance the Bucks might be willing to do a sign and trade. Assuming that Utah will match Millsap and then trade with OTHER trading partners (presumably asshat Wallace will provide the capspace) we will see a further limiting of those who can make Sessions an offer. If that is the case I say get on the horn with the Bucks and see what they feel is fair trade value. I would offer Blake, Outlaw and picks + $ and if that doesn't float their boat I would offer Rudy if they threw in Kurt Thomas. That would be my upper end offer. What about the rest of you? What now? Who do you target and how do you get them?
Figure out the teams that need PF help, badly, then figure out which of those teams have a PG or SF you really covet, then engage them in discussions to make a three-way trade between them, us and Utah work. Send them Boozer, bring back an upgrade at PG or SF.
Out of those people sessions.. and if we got him though, I would just assume package Bayless with Outlaw and see what we can get.
He's not on there because A) he will sign with LA and B) it would waste yet more time. I can't see him signing with Portland. I also hate Odom and not like in a god I hate Kobe because he is sooo damn good kind of way just in a sort of your an ass kind of way.
Let it bake, baby. Reserve a seat on our bench and gold-plate it with the name "Cap Space" on the back.
NO, I want Sessions but I'm not 100% locked in that he is the answer we HAVE to keep Bayless as insurance. One of the two will pan out and you trade the other down the road. Blake needs to hit the road he is not the answer and never will be. Bayless is still young and gifted, Blake is at the age where there isn't much upside left and he lacks the physical gifts we need at the 1. For godsake Hinrich looks appealing compared to Blake!
You want to pull off a lopsided trade at the deadline or draft day 2010 then I take it? You know there is no more capspace come July 1st, 2010 (Assuming KP isn't smoking rocks and we resign Aldridge and Roy).
Well, after the whole "pulling the offer" thing, I don't know if he'll sign in LA, I think his future is more cloudy than ever. I also don't think he'd waste time. Odom is an UFA, and most of the people you have on the poll are all RFA's. Even if it takes Odom 3 days to decide on an offer, it's still less than the week we would have to wait, waiting for a response from, say, Milwaukee.
The way I read it was he was making a joke that that was the imaginary player we got with all the cap space we were touting.
At this point? Signing Roy and Aldridge to any type of extension would be great news and a cause for joy for me, which I thought would've gotten done already.. but it's going on more than a week. If we can pull off a lopsided trade, or make any trade to bring in an impact player -- that'd just be gravy.. although I figured that was assumed since the Feb. trade deadline. But maybe my expectations were way too high.
Yep, you're right! Make him a jersey too with the name Cap Space on the back, and give him the No. 9.
Though I would like Portland to make a run at Sessions I am pretty sure Portland will stand pat after this. I don't happen to think that is good, but there isn't fuck all I can do about it.
