Newspapers are a thing of the past. Say, you’re sitting down for coffee and breakfast in the morning and you want your one stop morning news fix? Where do you go for that? Mark Mason show was a staple for me but he’s since retired.
https://news.google.com/ You can get multiple views on major news stories and set it to show you the latest news stories on specific topics.
Combination, I start the morning with electoral-vote.com, then move to Reddit, and Apple News which are just different forms of aggregators really.
I still read morning paper over breakfast. Hell of a way to start the day. Watch some news and commentary programs. Read science magazines for science news.
I catch a variety of news sites. Most would probably be cynically called "MSM" but most seem to allow both sides of the divide. Denny Crane turned me on to Real Clear Politics several years ago. It is definitely a conservative site, but usually offers both the "liberal" and "conservative" sides of most issues, which provides a pretty good counterpoint. Though it's hard to keep a straight face when the usual conservative pundits tie themselves into knots trying to rationalize and excuse Trump, his behavior and the Conservative agenda in general. At least it taught me who all the MAGA shills are.......
I read the NYT's morning newsletter for a summary of the main stories of the day. Apple News and Google news. I skim OLive, but don't subscribe. If I want more details, I'll run a search or two for info.
HA! Complete opposite FAMS, you know that. I just can't stand the influx of hate we went thru for 5 years..... I watch 60 Minutes/Frontline and read thread here. Literally!
There’s this place on S2 called the OT Forum I like to visit to get my news. sometimes that’s literally true.
https://www.msn.com/ https://www.commondreams.org/ https://popularresistance.org/ A few YouTube channels. Like this crazy bastard who shows you the corporate corruption that both party's allow here in America: https://www.youtube.com/@LastWeekTonight
First, I have very little interest in daily news reports. I would rather do indepth research into a few topics that I am interested in. Rather than have very little info on many topics. To fully understand any topic in this age of agenda drivin reporting. I collate info from many sources. I get as many angles of a topic as possible, from all sides. Sometimes, it is the info that is not being reported by most sources, that is the most important. One piece of info can completely change my view on a topic. Sometimes, it is the info in the reports from other countries that reveal the truth. Getting a feel of the world prospective often reveals new info. People with agendas often try to hide info they do do not want you to know. All special intetest groups are guilty of this lying by omission.
I listen to PBS , BBC, Taipei Times and whatever algorithm follows my interests on my laptop....If I read an article I get several connected editorials or articles that way...I don't follow CNN or FOX or Twitter or Facebook at all. To me the news requires a well developed bullshit filter. If I had to watch TV news while waiting to get my tires aligned at Les Schwaab I'd probably choose CBS for balance or somewhat balanced news coverage...I grew up watching Walter Cronkite on CBS...it was THE news channel in my TV watching youth. The same AP news feeds or Reuters news feeds get parroted by all the major news networks. I usually look for AP or Reuters titles when I find a headline that interests me.
You go out of your way to constantly watch negative shit? Doesn’t that wear on you day in and day out?
