Jaromir Jagr is currently 11th all time in points scored and 16th all time in assists. He has 5 Art Ross Trophies, 1 Hart Trophy and 2 Pearson Trophies. Where do you rank him compared to the all time greats?

What do you see as his legacy? Personally, and because of some bias, I only remember his years for the Penguins and ignore his over-paid, under-performing seasons after that (although he did have a good season in 2005-2006).

Its really hard to put him in the top 10 considering he still is playing and we don;t know how many more years he mightplay. I think he deserves top 15, Jagr at onetime was the most dominating player in the league. From 96-00 there wasn't a scarier player withopen ice. Its a bit of a ifferent story now, he doesn;t skate like he used to and rely's on his size way too much, he also turns ove rthe puck a lot. But he shows flashes of the old times.

Sure he can win a Cup with Mario but can he do it as the leader? Spots in the all-time top ten are resevered for Champions. I think a lot will depend on how his career ends. He's got a few more good seasons in him and NY has a pretty good team for him to work with.

With Jagr leaving the NHL, I wanted to revisit this topic

His prime was amazing but the rest was overrated because of his name.

    How long was his prime?

How did his prime stack up against the other greats both in terms of production and span?

His prime is hard to tell. Much like Scottie Pippen beside Jordan, Jagr had to be beside Mario and got a lot of "it's because of Mario" rather than his own talent producing.

Penguins were his prime but he always proved he was still amazing having a 123 point season just three years ago.

I'll try and find someone who compares to his career after work.

Talent doesn't necessarily equate to leadership. That's basically what I got out of his career. He was one of the most skilled players and prolific offensive players I've ever seen, but he was never a good captain. Leadership just didn't suit him.

I think I was most impressed by him when he led the Czechs to a gold medal at Nagano.
