this isn't a thread about how Dame sucks, so don't take it that way. This thread is one of serious concern. Aldridge is our best player, but he doesn't have the closer in him to finish off teams. When we were firing on all cylinders, Aldridge would dominate through the game, then Dame would take us home in the 4th. This was how we could always be in games. As long as Dame is in the game we had a chance. Lately, Dame has choked and his confidence looks questionable. Without that Dame, we have no shot going far in the playoffs. What is happening here?
Stotts used it all up. It's like that arcade game, Off Road. Once you use up all your nitro you're done for.
It's so frustrating! I just don't get it. How can a player be super deadly and assertive for most of his 3 seasons, then one day decide to stink it up from clutch and the perimeter? It makes no sense
I'm going to go on a limb and say it's more personal and there are just to many distractions and anchors in his life and what should prob be his main focus which is basketball is suffering. Or we are just finding out he is pretty ordinary. Whatever it is he is going through it effects the team as a whole.
These threads are getting old? I completely disagree. See Dame can and should be the best PG in the league. He's been deadly for most his career. If this was a week or two slump, then concern wouldn't be warranted. But this has been ongoing since the last week of December. He has been piss poor from the perimeter. And the major concern is OUR team won't go anywhere unless we have the real Dame back. Until then, we will be just a mediocre team. We need the superstar dame, not the role playing dame.
If it was a short Brandon Jennings like run of a couple months, or even a Jeremy Lin... then yes, I could understand it. But it was 2 years of it. You can't do that for 2 years and then stop. So to say he's just ordinary is asinine, and a horrible choice of words.
Ya know...I like the kid..but it does get frustrating watching ...he fails to recognize when it is better for him to pass the damn ball, instead of buying into the concept that he is some kind of super hero. Chalk it up to trying to do too much? Lets hope so. The other alternative is that he believes himself to be too superior..and as we all can see...that aint the case.
or, we could look at it like, he was 99/265 (37%) on 3's before he fell against the Heat and hurt his back, and is 36/135 since (26.7%). If you can't make 3s like normal, it will probably look a lot like you suck at being clutch when you miss 3s in clutch time.
Damn ..this is hard to say...but yeah, I think he has. Wussbrick at least scores...sure..a lot of flops for free throws..and the extra five points per game might be the difference between wins and a loss not to mention the fact that his flops take control of the pace of a game. Tell me you are not yelling at the TV .....are you not also telling the Dame to pass the rock before being swarmed by three seven footers, and trying to force shit shots..and yeah. Brian, you have a valid point. If you can figure out that his shot is broken, should Dame be able to figure out that he needs to find a shot he can make? I dont think missing 72.3% of your shots helps anyone.
Well, considering that even the best ones most likely miss 50-55% of their shots... I don't get on Dame too much... just because I know that he wants to be the best, and you can see it. Though, one of my niggling fears is that he may get caught up in the off the court life.
