As a longtime Phoenix Suns fan, I really admired and appreciated the game of Rodney Rogers who seemed to transform himself from a burly post-up player into a 3-point marksman who could run the floor, play good defense and grab 7 or 8 rebounds. When the Suns were hot in the Jason Kidd stint, Rogers was one of the hottest and won the 6th man award earning redemption for a promising career that never blossomed in the disaster that was Denver 12 years ago or with the "paper" Clippers. He was decent with Boston but did not seem to fit in with the Nets, and for reasons yet to be explained did not exercise his option to play another year with the Nets and signed a contract for less money with the Hornets and wound up in Philly to end 2005. Then he was a free agent, was not signed and I have yet to see or hear any news about him since the Summer. I figured by now he would have signed a short term contract with a team decimated with injury. I guess it's over for him.
If you can refer me to a news article about Rogers and what he's doing I would appreciate it.

He wants to know where Rogers is now. Thats just his profile. It doesn't really say anything about him.

Thanks for the link Jurassic. I had taken a couple of looks at it in the past but it stops with the 2003 season. It links to the Philly site but Philly did not post any news about Rogers since April during the playoffs. I suppose I could email the Philadelphia Inquirer or the Durham Herald in his hometown or Wake Forest Sports. Have a good holiday.

Right now Rodney Rogers is one of many veteran free agent just waiting for a phone call from a contending team. He's sitting there with all these players, Glenn Robinson, Latrell Sprewell, Tom Gugliotta, Erick Strickland, George Lynch, Wes Person, Darvin Ham, Christian Laettner, Andrew DeClercq, Clarence Weatherspoon, Anthony Peeler, and Ron Mercer.

I'm sure you'll start seeing these guys latch onto teams during the second half or around the trade deadline.

Yea, your right, Portland can use Wesley and get some points because Portland are just horrible in offense, they need a shooter badly...

Rodney lived next to me when I live back in Paramus two years ago, then he moved in the summer of 2004 to Phoenix, I think...I can try to contact him and ask him about his plans if you want...I'm not sure it'll work, but I can try. [IMG]

Thanks Kobimel, that would be cool if you are comfortable with that. I tried emailing Wake Forest today as well and assume they may have some information. I know this isn't a burning topic with many folks, after all RR has had a pretty decent NBA career; but I thought he was underrated and still had a couple of good years in him.
